2014 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2014 European Amateur Team Championship took place 8–12 July at Linna Golf Oy in Hämeenlinna, Finland. It was the 31st men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The course, situated 5 kilometres east of Hämeenlinna, located in the historical province of Tavastia and the modern province of Kanta-Häme in the south of Finland, 98 kilometres north of Helsinki, was designed by Tim Lobb in cooperation with European Tour Design and opened in 2005. Format Each team consisted of 6 players, playing two rounds of stroke-play over two days, counting the five best scores each day for each team. The eight best teams formed flight A, in knock-out match-play over the next three days. The teams were seeded based on their positions after the stroke play. The first placed team was drawn to play the quarter final against the eight placed team, the second against the seventh, the third against the sixth and the fourth against the fifth. Hämeenlinna

Thomas Detry
Thomas Detry (born 13 January 1993) is a Belgian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and PGA Tour. He was a highly ranked amateur golfer before turning professional. In his first professional win at the Bridgestone Challenge, he set Challenge Tour records for largest margin of victory and tied for lowest score under-par with Ivó Giner. Early life Detry was born in 1993 in Uccle, Belgium south of Brussels. He started playing golf when he was 5, but also played tennis and lawn hockey. Christopher Herlihy "Hurly" Long (born 21 July 1995) is a German professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He won the 2020 Italian Challenge Open. Amateur career Long attended Texas Tech University from 2015 to 2018, having been a freshman at the University of Oregon in 2014/15. He won the 2017 Carmel Cup after a playoff, which included a second-round 61 to set a new course record at Pebble Beach. Clément Sordet
Clément Sordet (born 22 October 1992) is a French professional golfer. Sordet played college golf at Texas Tech where he won six times. After graduating in 2015 and playing in the Palmer Cup, Sordet turned professional. He began playing on the Challenge Tour. In August 2015, he won his first tournament as a professional, at the Northern Ireland Open, playing on a national invitation. It was only his fourth event as a professional. Sordet finished 2015 by finishing joint runner-up in the Thailand Golf Championship. This was one of the Open Qualifying Series and gained him entry to the 2016 Open Championship. Julien Brun (born 1 April 1992) is a French professional golfer. He has won three times on the Challenge Tour, firstly in 2012 as an amateur, before winning again at the Open de Bretagne and the Empordà Challenge in 2021.
