The Catalonia College of Music ( ca, Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, ESMUC; ) is a music school in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The school is located at L'Auditori, a performing arts center inaugurated in 1999 which also houses three concert halls and a museum. Kennedy Moretti
Kennedy Moretti (born 1966) is a Brazilian pianist and music professor. Biography Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Kennedy Moretti studied piano at the São Paulo University and later at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music (Budapest, Hungary) and in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts. He later worked as an accompanist and music assistant at the Hungarian State Opera House and in Austria with the Neue Oper Wien and the Neue Oper Austria at the Volkstheater. In the 90s, Moretti moved to Spain and was the senior accompanist of Alfredo Kraus' class at the Queen Sofía College of Music, where he continues teaching at the Institute for Chamber Music. Until 2006 he was a chamber music professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Salamanca and currently holds teaching positions at the Catalonia College of Music in Barcelona and Music Conservatoire in Zaragoza. Béatrice Martin (harpsichordist)
Béatrice Martin (born 1973) is a French harpsichordist. Life Born in Annecy, Martin began playing the harpsichord at the age of 6 years old in parallel with dancing. She studied at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève then Conservatoire de Paris. She has been a regular harpsichordist with Les Arts Florissants under William Christie, for whom she acted as principal assistant. In 2000, she founded the ensemble "Les Folies françoises" with the violinist and conductor Patrick Cohën-Akenine. She is a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona and has been a guest professor at the Juilliard School in New York since 2015. The Cuarteto Casals (''Casals Quartet'') is a Spanish string quartet based at l'Auditori in Barcelona, where all four members reside and teach at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya. Formation The Cuarteto Casals was founded at the Reina Sofía School of Music, Madrid, in 1997 under Professor Antonello Farulli. Gary Willis (born 28 March 1957) is an American bassist and composer known foremost as the co-founder (with Scott Henderson) of the jazz fusion band Tribal Tech. Aside from his work in Tribal Tech, Willis has worked with numerous other jazz musicians including Wayne Shorter, Dennis Chambers, and Allan Holdsworth. Uxía Martínez Botana (born 7 August 1988) is a Spanish double bass player. Early life and education Martínez Botana began learning the double bass and piano at the age of 6 at the elementary music conservatory Cristóbal Halffter in Ponferrada, Spain. Her first double bass teacher was Witold Patsevich – Principal Bass player from the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra – and studied piano with his wife, pianist Tatiana Patsevich.
