Erythronium Japonicum
''Erythronium japonicum'', known as Asian fawn lily, Oriental fawn lily, Japanese fawn lily is a pink-flowered species trout lily, belonging to the Lily family and native to Japan, Korea, the Russian Far East ( Sakhalin Island, Kuril Islands) and northeastern China ( Jilin and Liaoning). It is a spring ephemeral, blooming April–June in woodlands. It is known as ''zhūyáhuā'' () in Chinese, ''eolleji'' () in Korean, and ''katakuri'' () in Japanese. ''Erythronium japonicum'' has a stem up to long, although as much as 30% of the stem may be underground. Bulb is elongated, up to long but rarely more than . Leaves are broadly elliptical to lanceolate, the blade up to long and wide. Flowers are solitary, rose-colored. Applying the generic common name ''trout lily'' may be somewhat of a misnomer, because in the Japanese species, the individual plant may or may not exhibit the flecked dark markings on the leaves, which is emblematic of that common name (see gallery below). ...

Joseph Decaisne
Joseph Decaisne (7 March 1807 – 8 January 1882) was a French botanist and agronomist. He became an ''aide-naturaliste'' to Adrien-Henri de Jussieu (1797-1853), who served as the chair of rural botany. It was during this time that he began to study plants brought back by various travelers like those of Victor Jacquemont (1801-1832) from Asia. Decaisne used applied research, most notably on the agronomy of the Rubia tinctorum, madder, the Yam (vegetable), yam and the ramie. He was also interested in algae. Biography Although born in Brussels, Belgium, he exercised his activity exclusively in Paris. He entered in 1824 as a gardener at the ''Muséum national d'histoire naturelle'' (French museum of natural history) and became, in 1832, head of the ''carré des semis'' section. 200px, Tomitaro Makino was a pioneer Japanese botanist noted for his taxonomic work. He has been called "Father of Japanese Botany". He was one of the first Japanese botanists to work extensively on classifying Japanese plants using the system developed by Linnaeus.
