Ernst Molden
Ernst Hermann Wilhelm Molden (30 May 1886, Vienna, Austria - 11 August 1953, Vienna) was an Austrian journalist and historian. An editor-in-chief of the ''Neue Freie Presse'' before WW2, he founded the Austrian daily newspaper ''Die Presse'' in 1946. Ernst Molden was married to Paula von Preradović Paula Preradović (; 12 October 1887 – 25 May 1951), known professionally as Paula von Preradović or by her married name as Paula Molden, was an Austrian writer and poet. Neue Freie Presse
''Neue Freie Presse'' ("New Free Press") was a Viennese newspaper founded by Adolf Werthner together with the journalists Max Friedländer and Michael Etienne on 1 September 1864 after the staff had split from the newspaper ''Die Presse''. It existed until January 31, 1939. Werthner was president of ''Oesterreichischen Journal-Aktien-Gesellschaft'', the business entity behind the newspaper. In 1879, Eduard Bacher became the editor-in-chief of the paper. The editor from 1908 to 1920, and eventual owner, was Moriz Benedikt. Journalists employed by the paper included "Sil-Vara" (pseudonym of Geza Silberer) and Felix Salten. In Paris, its correspondent was Raphael Basch, Max Nordau, and from 1891, Theodor Herzl, both founders of the Zionist movement. ''Die Presse'' is a German-language daily broadsheet newspaper based in Vienna, Austria. It is considered a newspaper of record for Austria. History and profile ''Die Presse'' was first printed on 3 July 1848 as a liberal (libertarian)-bourgeois newspaper within the meaning of the revolutions of 1848 by the entrepreneur August Zang. Its staff split in 1864 under the leadership of Max Friedländer, Michael Etienne and Adolf Werthner to form the ''Neue Freie Presse'', which later was aryanized by the Nazis in 1938 and effectively closed in 1939. In 1946, after the Second World War, resistance fighter Ernst Molden, who had been vice-editor-in-chief of the ''Neue Freie Presse'' from 1921 until 1939, reestablished the newspaper as ''Die Presse''. Paula Von Preradović
Paula Preradović (; 12 October 1887 – 25 May 1951), known professionally as Paula von Preradović or by her married name as Paula Molden, was an Austrian writer and poet. She was the granddaughter of the poet, writer and military general Petar Preradović. Paula Preradović was born in Vienna, but her family moved to Pula, Istria, in 1889. Later she lived in Copenhagen and again in Vienna. She was married to the journalist, diplomat and founder of the Austrian newspaper ''Die Presse'', Ernst Molden, and had two sons, the publicist and federalist Otto Molden (1918–2002), and the journalist (1924–2014). She composed the lyrics for the national anthem of Austria, "Land der Berge, Land am Strome", in 1947.
