Eric Kamau Grávátt (born March 6, 1947) is a jazz drummer from Philadelphia. He has played with McCoy Tyner, Joe Henderson, Weather Report, Byard Lancaster, Dom Um Romão. He was a member of Weather Report from 1972–1974. Anthony James Keith "Tony" Hymas (born 23 September 1943) is an English keyboard player, pianist, and composer. Career Hymas started as a chorister at Exeter Cathedral School, where his contemporaries included composer and cathedral organist Barry Ferguson, and singer and pianist Roger Cleverdon. After leaving school, Hymas studied piano with Harold Rubens at the Royal Academy of Music. As company pianist for the Ballet Rambert in its resurgent 'modern' form, Hymas wrote a substitute score for Glen Tetley's ''Rag Dances'' over the course of eight days. After his employment at Rambert, Hymas found work in the busy London session scene of the 1970s. In 1974 he composed the theme song to the UK television series ''Mr Men'', based on the children's books by Roger Hargreaves. Hymas played with Jack Bruce in the Jack Bruce Band between 1976 and 1978. He accompanied guitarist Jeff Beck, appearing with him on the 1980 album '' There & Back''. Milestone Records
Milestone Records is an American jazz record company and label founded in 1966 by Orrin Keepnews and Dick Katz in New York City. The company was bought by Fantasy Records in 1972. Since then, it has produced LP reissues (including items from Keepnew's earlier Riverside label) as well as new recordings. Sonny Rollins and McCoy Tyner are among the musicians who recorded for the label. Milestone has reissued many historic jazz recording sessions, including the Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings sides made for Gennett Records in the 1920s. The label also issued blues albums, most of them produced by Pete Welding. They include Driftin' Slim & His Blues Band's ''Somebody Hoo-Doo'd The Hoo-Doo Man,'' in addition to LPs by Mississippi Fred McDowell and Big Joe Williams. Focal Point (album)
''Focal Point'' is a 1976 album by jazz piano, pianist McCoy Tyner, his tenth to be released on the Milestone Records, Milestone label. It was recorded during four days in August 1976 and features a septet fronted by three reed players (Gary Bartz, Joe Ford (musician), Joe Ford and Ron Bridgewater) who were in part multiplied through overdubs. On one track Tyner is heard picking a Appalachian dulcimer, dulcimer backed by tablas, evoking the sound of an Indian sitar. "Parody" is a duo with Eric Gravatt on drums. The album was digitally remastered at Fantasy Studios in 1999 and re-released on Original Jazz Classics. Reception Cook and Morton in their ''Penguin Guide to Jazz'' write that "''Focal Point'' looks to secure the firepower in the studio which the band generated in concert", but they suggest that the overdubbing of the horns "sometimes leads to stiffness in the ensemble sound".
