Saint Erhard of Regensburg was bishop of Regensburg in the 7th century. He is identified with an Abbot Erhard of Ebersheimmunster mentioned in a Merovingian diploma of 684. Ancient documents call him also Erard and Herhard. Erhard Altdorfer
Erhard Altdorfer (sometimes ''Erhart Aldorfer'') (c. 1480–1561) was a German Early Renaissance printmaker, painter, and architect, who worked as a court painter in Schwerin from 1512 until his death in 1561. Erhard Altdorfer was the younger brother of Albrecht Altdorfer. Most likely, he was trained by his brother, and it is believed they started a workshop together in 1506. It is assumed Erhard Altdorfer worked in Austria at the Lambach Abbey, and in St Florian and Klosterneuburg around 1510. In 1512, he went to Schwerin, where Duke Henry V of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1479–1552) appointed him court painter and architect. During a trip with the duke that year, he probably came in contact with Lucas Cranach the Elder. A commission for the duke and Albert VII was an altarpiece in Sternberg, however, destroyed by fire in 1741. Erhard Arnold Julius Dehio
Erhard Arnold Julius Dehio (16 January 1855 – 12 July 1940) was a Baltic German merchant and politician who was the lord mayor of Tallinn from March 1918 to 13 November 1918, with Alexander Riesenkampff as second mayor. A notable grain exporter, he traded throughout Europe in the late 19th century. First a city councilor, he was the lord mayor of Tallinn during the German occupation of Estonia during World War I, when the German Empire occupied most of newly independent Estonia, including Tallinn. After the occupation ended and Estonia became an independent republic, Dehio resigned as mayor and left for Germany, eventually setting up his headquarters in Lübeck. He was succeeded by Aleksander Pallas. He would be the last Baltic German mayor of Tallinn. He died in 1940 in Bad Oeynhausen. Erhard Etzlaub
Erhard Etzlaub ( 1455 1465 – 1532) was a German astronomer, geodesist, cartographer, instrument maker and physician. Life Little is known of Etzlaub's life. One "Erhart Etzlauber" became a citizen of Nuremberg in 1484, but his profession was not recorded on that occasion. Assuming that the "Eberhardus Eczleiben" who matriculated at the ''Erfurter Hochschule'' in 1468 is the same person, then the year of his birth should be between 1455 and 1460 rather than later. Letters from a third party dated 1500 and 1507 describe Etzlaub as a well-known instrument ("compass") maker and a geodesist, and a letter dated 1517 reveals that "he had also practicised as a physician for at least four years" and that he "comes from Erfurt". In 1515, he declared himself to be an "astronomer and physician, from Erfurt University". His death is officially quoted as the 15th entry in an official list of 20 people buried between December 20, 1531 and February 21, 1532. Therefore, he very probably died ... Erhard Hegenwald
Erhard Hegenwald (also Erhart Hegen Walt, first half of the 16th century) was a writer of the Reformation. Hegenwald had been schoolmaster in Pfäfers Abbey and participated in the "First Zurich Disputation" of Ulrich Zwingli. He wrote a documentation of the dispute, titled "Handlung der Versammlung in der loblichen stat Zürich auff den 24. tag Jeners 1523, von wegen d. h. Evangelii" (Acto of the assembly in the praised city Zurich on 24 January 1523, on the Holy Gospel). This was printed in the same several times. On Friday after Epiphany 1524, Hegewald's hymn "Erbarm dich mein, o Herre Gott, nach deiner großen Barmherzigkeit" (Have pity on me, O Lord God, according to thy great mercy) appeared in Wittenberg as a broadside. It is a paraphrase of Psalm 51 "Miserere". The song was included in the Erfurt ''Enchiridion'' and in other hymnals. Erhard Wunderlich
Erhard "Sepp" Wunderlich (14 December 1956 – 4 October 2012) was a German handball player. Wunderlich was born in Augsburg. As a member of the West German handball team, he won the 1978 World Men's Handball Championship and the silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. At the latter tournament he played all six matches and scored 22 goals. He played club handball for the VfL Gummersbach from 1976 to 1983 when he left to join FC Barcelona. He later returned to Germany to play for the TSV Milbertshofen. During his club career he won four European Cups and two German Championships. In 1999 he was voted German Handballer of the Century. Ludwig Wilhelm Erhard (; 4 February 1897 – 5 May 1977) was a German politician affiliated with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), and chancellor of West Germany from 1963 until 1966. He is known for leading the West German postwar economic reforms and economic recovery ('' Wirtschaftswunder'', German for "economic miracle") in his role as Minister of Economic Affairs under Chancellor Konrad Adenauer from 1949 to 1963. During that period he promoted the concept of the social market economy (''soziale Marktwirtschaft''), on which Germany's economic policy in the 21st century continues to be based. In his tenure as Chancellor, however, Erhard lacked support from Adenauer, who remained chairman of the party until 1966, and failed to win the public's confidence in his handling of a budget deficit and his direction of foreign policy. Erhard Seminars Training (marketed as est, though often encountered as EST or Est) was an organization, founded by Werner Erhard in 1971, that offered a two-weekend (6-day, 60-hour) course known officially as "The est Standard Training". The seminar aimed to "transform one's ability to experience living so that the situations one had been trying to change or had been putting up with clear up just in the process of life itself".
