Ergenzingen is a suburban district of Rottenburg am Neckar in the administrative district of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg (Germany). Geography Ergenzingen is located 12 km (7.45 mi) western from Rottenburg am Neckar, 11 km (6.83 mi) southeastern from Nagold and 13 km (8.07 mi) northeastern from Horb am Neckar. The elevation is 436 to 499 m. Extent The territory of the district is 1004 hectares. Thereof fall 70.4% upon agriculturally used area, 11% upon forest area, 18.3% upon settlement area and roads and 0.3% upon other. Population The population of Ergenzingen counts 4166 people (31/01/08). So Ergenzingen is the largest district of Rottenburg. Rottenburg am Neckar (; until 10 July 1964 only ''Rottenburg''; Swabian: ''Raodaburg'') is a medium-sized town in the administrative district (''Landkreis'') of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies about 50 kilometres (31 miles) southwest of the provincial capital Stuttgart and about 12 km (7 mi) southwest of the district town Tübingen. Rottenburg is the second-largest town of the district after Tübingen and makes up a secondary centre for the surrounding community. Since 1 May 1972, Rottenburg am Neckar has been a district town (''Große Kreisstadt''). Rottenburg agreed to an administrative collective with the municipalities of Hirrlingen, Neustetten and Starzach. Tübingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Böblingen, Reutlingen, Zollernalbkreis and Freudenstadt. History The district dates back to the ''Oberamt Tübingen'' in the state of Württemberg. In 1811 the ''Oberamt Rottenburg'' was created, and both were converted into districts in 1934. In 1938 most of the district Rottenburg as well as a few municipalities from the district Herrenberg and Reutlingen were added to the district Tübingen. Nagold
Nagold is a town in southwestern Germany, bordering the Northern Black Forest. It is located in the ''Landkreis'' (district) of Calw (Germany/Baden-Württemberg). Nagold is known for its ruined castle, Hohennagold Castle, and for its road viaduct. It takes its name from the river Nagold, which flows through the town. Nagold has a beautiful city centre where half-timbered houses and modern architecture meet each other. Horb Am Neckar
Horb am Neckar is a town in the southwest of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is located on the Neckar river, between Offenburg to the west (about away) and Tübingen to the east (about away). It has around 25,000 inhabitants, of whom about 6,000 live in the main town of Horb, and the remainder in 18 associated villages and districts which form part of the same municipality. If the entire municipality is counted, it is the largest town in the District of Freudenstadt.
