Enrico Mentana
Enrico Mentana (born 15 January 1955) is an Italian journalist and television presenter. He founded the Italian news program ''TG5'' and directed it from 1992 to 2004. In 2005, as Canale 5's editorial director, he conceived and curated the talk show Matrix until his resignation in 2009 due to a disagreement with the network. From June 2010 he is the director of the news program TG La7. He is also the director of the online newspaper ''Open'', which he founded in December 2018. Early life Enrico Mentana was born in Milan on 15 January 1955. He is the eldest son of Franco Mentana, well-known correspondent of La Gazzetta dello Sport and native of Bova, and Lella, of Jewish origins. He was baptized as a Catholic, although he will always show great closeness to the Jewish people. 1994 Italian General Election
The 1994 Italian general election was held on 27 and 28 March 1994 to elect members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic for the 12th legislature. Silvio Berlusconi's centre-right coalition won a large majority in the Chamber of Deputies but just missed winning a majority in the Senate. The Italian People's Party, the renamed Christian Democracy (DC), which had dominated Italian politics for almost half a century, was decimated. Giovanni Falcone
Giovanni Falcone (; 18 May 1939 – 23 May 1992) was an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate. From his office in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, Sicily, he spent most of his professional life trying to overthrow the power of the Sicilian Mafia. After a long and distinguished career, culminating in the Maxi Trial in 1986–1987, on 23 May 1992, Falcone was assassinated by the Corleonesi Mafia in the Capaci bombing, on the A29 motorway near the town of Capaci. Emilio Carelli (born 21 May 1952) is an Italian journalist and politician, member of the Chamber of Deputies for the Five Star Movement, since 24 March 2018 until 2 February 2021. Lamberto Sposini (born 1952) is an Italian journalist and television presenter. Born in Foligno, Sposini started his career as a journalist for the newspaper Paese Sera, then in 1978 he became a collaborator of RAI TV, working as a redactor, a correspondent and as a news speaker of TG1. In 1991 he moved to Mediaset, where he co-founded the TG5 and became one of its news speaker.
