English Challenge
The English Challenge is a golf tournament on the Challenge Tour, played in England. History The event was held for the first time in 1993 as the Collingtree Park Challenge and was played as the Stockley Park Challenge in 1994. There was a nine-year break before it made a one-off return in 2004 as the Donnington Grove Computacenter English Challenge Open. The English Challenge returned to the schedule again in 2010 at Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa in Stoke-by-Nayland, Suffolk. Australia's Daniel Gaunt won the tournament by one stroke from English amateur Tommy Fleetwood and Scotland's Craig Lee. The event was played Stoke by Nayland again in 2011 and 2012. Modified Stableford
Stableford is a scoring system used in the sport of golf. Rather than counting the total number of strokes taken, as in stroke play, it involves scoring points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole. Unlike traditional scoring methods, where the aim is to have the lowest score, under Stableford rules, the objective is to have the highest score. The Stableford system was developed by Frank Barney Gorton Stableford (1870–1959), to deter golfers from giving up on their round after just one or two bad holes. It was first used informally at the Glamorganshire Golf Club, Penarth, Wales, in 1898, and first used in competition at Wallasey Golf Club in Wallasey, England, in 1932. Thriston Lawrence (born 3 December 1996) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He claimed his maiden victory on the European Tour in the weather-shortened Joburg Open in 2021 and also won the 2022 Investec South African Open Championship. Professional career Lawrence turned professional in 2014. He played on the MENA Tour in 2015 and the Challenge Tour in 2016. He won the MENA Tour Order of Merit in 2015. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen
} Nicolai von Dellingshausen (born 22 January 1993) is a German professional golfer who currently plays on the Challenge Tour. Von Dellingshausen turned professional in late 2016 and played on the 2017 Pro Golf Tour. In February he lost in a four-way playoff in the Tony Jacklin Open, before winning the Tazegzout Open in March. He had further wins in the Adamstal Open and the Sierra Polish Open, as well as two more runner-up finishes. His third win earned him immediate promotion to the Challenge Tour. In his third Challenge Tour event, he was runner-up in the 2017 Bridgestone Challenge, where Oscar Lengdén took victory with a birdie-birdie-eagle finish. Sebastian Söderberg
Jan Sebastian Söderberg (born 19 September 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Söderberg was born in Eksjö in Småland, Sweden, but grew up playing golf at Delsjö Golf Club in Gothenburg on the west coast of the country. He won four junior tournaments in the Gothenburg area. He was part of the Swedish team winning the 2008 European Boys' Team Championship at Bled Golf Club, Slovenia. He also represented Sweden twice at the European Amateur Team Championship. Söderberg played college golf at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina from 2009 to 2013, where he won twice. His best World Amateur Golf Ranking was 51st. Dimitrios "Dimi" Papadatos (born 4 June 1991) is a Greek-Australian professional golfer currently playing on the European Tour. Professional career Papadatos turned professional in late 2012. He won his first professional event at the New Zealand Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia in March 2014. Tom Lewis (born 5 January 1991) is a professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. Amateur career In 2009, Lewis won the Boys Amateur Championship at Royal St George's. In 2010, he lost to Peter O'Malley in a playoff for the New South Wales Open, and then tied for 12th place at the Australian Open. The Belfry
The Belfry is a golf resort and hotel in Wishaw, Warwickshire, close to Sutton Coldfield, England, located approximately 8 miles from the centre of Birmingham. It was acquired by KSL Capital Partners in August 2012. The resort has three golf courses. The Brabazon Course is the main tournament course, and the others are the PGA National and The Derby. The headquarters of The Professional Golfers' Association are also located there, along with a 4-star hotel, tennis courts and a leisure spa. The Belfry has hosted the Ryder Cup on four occasions and has staged numerous European Tour events. In 2013, The Belfry underwent a comprehensive £26 million renovation of all bedrooms, meeting rooms, public spaces and other amenities. Oliver Bekker
Oliver Bekker (born 11 December 1984) is a South African professional golfer. Professional career Bekker plays on the Sunshine Tour where he has won seven times. He won the 2011 Northern Cape Classic, the 2012 Dimension Data Pro-Am, the 2013 Telkom PGA Pro-Am and the 2016 Sun City Challenge. He won three times in 2017, the Zambia Sugar Open, the Lombard Insurance Classic, and the Sun Wild Coast Sun Challenge. In April 2021, Bekker lost in a four-man playoff at the Limpopo Championship.
