Thriston Lawrence
Thriston Lawrence (born 3 December 1996) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He claimed his maiden victory on the European Tour in the weather-shortened Joburg Open in 2021 and also won the 2022 Investec South African Open Championship. Professional career Lawrence turned professional in 2014. He played on the MENA Tour in 2015 and the Challenge Tour in 2016. He won the MENA Tour Order of Merit in 2015. He played on the Big Easy Tour in 2018, gaining his card for the 2019–20 Sunshine Tour season. He won his first Sunshine Tour event in 2019 at the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Stellenbosch. Lawrence claimed the biggest victory of his career (at that time) at the 2021 Joburg Open. It was a co-sanctioned European Tour and Sunshine Tour event. Mbombela (also known as Nelspruit) is a city in northeastern South Africa. It is the capital of the Mpumalanga province. Clément Sordet
Clément Sordet (born 22 October 1992) is a French professional golfer. Sordet played college golf at Texas Tech where he won six times. After graduating in 2015 and playing in the Palmer Cup, Sordet turned professional. He began playing on the Challenge Tour. In August 2015, he won his first tournament as a professional, at the Northern Ireland Open, playing on a national invitation. It was only his fourth event as a professional. Sordet finished 2015 by finishing joint runner-up in the Thailand Golf Championship. This was one of the Open Qualifying Series and gained him entry to the 2016 Open Championship. Michael Downes (golfer)
Michael Downes (21 October 1868 – 21 May 1943) was an Irish hurler who played with the Limerick senior team. Born in Kilfinane, County Limerick, Downes first played competitive hurling in his youth. He quickly established himself on the Kilfinane team and won county senior championship medals in 1897 and 1899. After success at club level, Downes joined the Limerick senior team. Darren Christopher Clarke, (born 14 August 1968) is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions and has previously played on the European Tour and PGA Tour. He has won 21 tournaments worldwide on a number of golf's main tours including the European Tour, the PGA Tour, the Sunshine Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. His biggest victory came when he won the 2011 Open Championship at Royal St George's in England, his first major win after more than 20 years and 54 attempts. 2022–23 Sunshine Tour
The 2022–23 Sunshine Tour is the 23rd season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa-based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. The tour is based predominantly in South Africa with other events being held in Zimbabwe. It will be the first season in which the Order of Merit was rebranded as the "Luno Order of Merit", using a points-based system rather than money earned. 2023 European Tour
The 2023 European Tour, titled as the 2023 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, is the 52nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. It is the second season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. In September 2022, the opening six events of the 2023 season were announced; they were all co-sanctioned events, four with the South Africa-based Sunshine Tour and two with the PGA Tour of Australasia, and were scheduled for late 2022.
