Bob Charles (golfer)
Sir Robert James Charles (born 14 March 1936) is a New Zealand professional golfer. His achievements over five decades rank him among the most successful left-handed golfers of all time, being the first lefty to win a major championship, winning more than 70 titles and beating his age twice during a tournament as a 71-year-old. Although Charles plays golf left-handed, he is naturally right-handed. Early years Born in Carterton, a small town in the Wairarapa district in New Zealand's North Island, Charles lived in Masterton where he worked as a bank teller. Allan Henning
Allan Henning (born 1 June 1944) is a former professional golfer from South Africa. Henning was born into a golfing family. His brothers Harold, Brian, and Graham all became professional golfers. Henning turned professional in 1962 and won 18 tournaments on the South African Sunshine Tour between 1963 and 1980. His biggest win was the South African Open when it was played twice in 1963. Henning also had 4 playoff losses and 3 runner up positions in the South African Open. He also secured a big win at the South African Masters in 1968. Henning won the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit in two consecutive seasons, in 1974/75 and 1975/76. He represented SA in World Cup and World Series of Golf. Henning was also the first to score a record 61 at the Toro Classic played at Glendower GC in 1976. Randall Vines
Randall Vines (born 6 June 1945) is an Australian professional golfer. Vines was one of the top Australian golfers of his generation, winning a number of worldwide tournaments. He may be best remembered for his sterling 1968 season which included four significant worldwide wins across in Asia, Europe, and Australia, including a 17 stroke win at the Tasmanian Open. The victory is still considered by some to be the largest margin of victory in any golf significant professional tournament ever. Amateur career Vines is from Brisbane, Australia. Graham Henning
Graham Henning was a South African professional golfer. Henning was born into a golfing family. His brothers Allan, Brian, and Harold all became professional golfers. In addition, his son Nic Henning is a professional golfer. In the late 1960s and early 70s Henning was briefly one of the top golfers in South Africa. He recorded several 1st and 2nd place finishes in top international events across Europe and Africa. This excellent play helped him qualify for South Africa's 1969 World Cup team. Professional career Henning's first top performance on the international stage was at the 1967 Engadine Open. After opening with an even par 70 Henning fired consecutive rounds of 67 and 66 to get into contention. As the final round started he was at −7, one back of Australia's Randall Vines. Donald Swaelens
Donald Swaelens (1935 – 25 April 1975) was a Belgian professional golfer. Golf career Like his father Jules, Swaelens made his career as a club professional at Royal Latem Golf Club. He also worked as a touring professional, intermittently playing on the European circuit. He won the 1966 Woodlawn Tournament, played at the Ramstein Air Base in West Germany, the 1967 German Open, and the 1971 Agfa-Gevaert Tournament, also in West Germany. In 1972, Swaelens joined the European Tour during its inaugural season. In 1973, he finished tied for second, with Dale Hayes, in the Viyella PGA Championship held at Wentworth, three shots behind Peter Oosterhuis. Martin Roesink
Martin Roesink (born 24 July 1939) is a Dutch professional golfer. In the mid-1960s he had much success in Australasian region, posting several high finishes culminating with a win at the 1967 New Zealand Wills Masters. The following year he tried out for the PGA Tour and was successful, performing as medallist at the fall Q-School. He played on the PGA Tour for five seasons, recording a number of top tens, including a runner-up finish in 1970. Since then, he has worked primarily as a club professional and golf manager in the American state of Ohio. Early life Roesink was born in Diepenveen, Netherlands.
