Randall Vines
Randall Vines (born 6 June 1945) is an Australian professional golfer. Vines was one of the top Australian golfers of his generation, winning a number of worldwide tournaments. He may be best remembered for his sterling 1968 season which included four significant worldwide wins across in Asia, Europe, and Australia, including a 17 stroke win at the Tasmanian Open. The victory is still considered by some to be the largest margin of victory in any golf significant professional tournament ever. Amateur career Vines is from Brisbane, Australia. He had some success as an amateur, winning the 1963 Queensland Junior Golf Tournament. Professional career Vines turned professional in 1966. He began his career playing pro-ams in northern Queensland. His first victory was at the City of Cairns Open. The Caltex Tournament was a golf tournament held at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club in Paraparaumu, New Zealand from 1955 to 1972. Roberto Bernardini
Roberto Bernardini (born 21 January 1944) is an Italian professional golfer. He represented Italy 9 times in the World Cup between 1966 and 1975. Most of his success came in continental Europe as he won a number of tournaments in his native Italy. He also won the Swiss Open in back to back years, 1968 and 1969. Late in 1969 he won the Agfa-Gevaert Tournament, an international tournament played in West Germany. He scored 281, defeating South Africa's Graham Henning by a stroke. It was his fourth win on the European circuit that year. This excellent play helped Bernardini qualify for the Masters Tournament in 1969 and 1970. Bernardini had some success outside continental Europe, however. He reached the semi-final of the 1970 Long John Scotch Whisky Match Play Championship and finished joint third in the 1972 Sunbeam Electric Scottish Open. Omega European Masters
The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992. Tomoo Ishii
(9 June 1923 – 24 January 2022) was a Japanese professional golfer. Professional career Ishii was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and started playing golf at the age of 15. Ishii won a number of events on the Japanese and Asian circuits through the 1950s and 1960s. One of his top triumphs was at the 1964 Capitol Hills Open in Manila, Philippines on the Far East Circuit. Ishii was tied for the lead with Australian golfer Peter Thomson at the beginning of the fourth round. He outshot Thomson by four strokes over the course of the final round to win. His good play helped him earn three consecutive special foreign invitations to the Masters in the mid-1960s. He was one of the first Asian players to play in the event. Chen Ching-Po (born 1 October 1931) is a Taiwanese professional golfer. The Yomiuri International was a golf tournament held in Japan from 1962 to 1971. It was played at the Yomiuri Country Club in Tokyo. It was an event on the Asia Golf Circuit (formerly the Far East Circuit) every year except for 1964, and served as the season finale. In 1972, the tournament was cancelled by the sponsor, the ''Yomiuri Shinbun'' newspaper, because of political tensions and replaced on the circuit by the Sobu International Open.
