The Endau River ( ms, Sungai Endau) is a river that flows through the Malaysian state of Johor and empties to the South China Sea. The river is the namesake of the town of Endau, located at the south bank of the river, and Endau Rompin National Park, which is located to the northeast of Johor. Endau
Endau is a small town in Mersing District, Johor, Malaysia. It lies on the northern tip of east Johor, on the border with Pahang. Name The town was named ''Endau'' after a peranakan Indian who resided in the area. In the 19th century it was known to the British as ''Blair's Harbour''. History The town was opened by Dato' Mohd Ali by an order from Temenggong Ibrahim. The town expanded due to its location as the center of economy for the people who worked in the trading, fishing and logging sectors at that time. Mersing District
Mersing District is one of the 10 districts district in Johor, Malaysia. Its seat is located at Mersing Town. Etymology The “Mersing” name is derived from the Chinese “Mau Sheng Port” (茂盛港) since 1880 and further simplify to Mersing. Mersing's Chinese name was renamed to “Feng Sheng Port” (丰盛港), with the meaning of good harvest. The Rompin District is a district located in the southeastern corner of Pahang, Malaysia. Rompin is currently under the Rompin District Council. Endau Rompin National Park
Endau-Rompin National Park (Malay: ''Taman Negara Endau-Rompin'') is a protected tropical rainforest in the southernmost prolongation of the Tenasserim Hills, Malaysia. It is south of the state of Pahang and northeast of Johor covering an area of approximately , making it the second-largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia after Taman Negara.
