Emmerich Dänzer
Emmerich Danzer (born 15 March 1944) is an Austrian former figure skater. He is a three-time (1966–68) World champion, a four-time (1965–68) European champion, and a four-time (1965–68) Austrian national champion. Personal life Emmerich Danzer was born on 15 March 1944 in Vienna, Austria. He attended a Catholic school in Vienna. Career Competitive Emmerich Danzer began to skate at the age of five. Herta Wächter became his coach in 1953. His skating club was WEV in Vienna. Danzer stood on his first ISU Championship podium at the 1963 Europeans in Budapest. He finished fourth the following year, in Grenoble, before winning gold ahead of France's Alain Calmat at the 1965 Europeans in Moscow. He placed fifth at the 1965 World Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado. ISU Figure Skating Championships
The International Skating Union organizes six annual Championships for figure skating. It is at the discretion of each member country which skaters, pairs or synchronized skating teams are sent to which championship. No skater in men's single skating, women's single skating, pair skating and ice dancing can compete at all four competitions in one season, but some skaters have competed at all four over the course of their careers. Vienna Ice Revue
The Vienna Ice Revue (Wiener Eisrevue) was an internationally highly successful ice show based upon Austria's great figure-skating tradition, presenting a large number of world-class figure skaters mainly from Vienna from 1945 to 1971. Representing a Viennese style, the Vienna Ice Revue was different from the competitor enterprise Holiday on Ice. In 1971 the Vienna Ice Revue was sold to Holiday On Ice and put on the back burner two years later. The roots The Wiener Eisrevue (Vienna Ice Revue) had its roots in the success story of Austrian figure skaters before World War II. Karl Schäfer, winner of eight European titles, seven World titles and two Olympic gold medals, was the most successful of these skaters. Wolfgang Schwarz (born 14 September 1947, in Vienna) is an Austrian former figure skater. He is the 1968 Olympic gold medalist (one of the youngest male figure skating Olympic champions), a two-time (1967–1968) World silver medalist, and three-time (1967–1969) European silver medalist.
