Emmenegger Nature Park
Emmenegger Nature Park (ENP) consists of in southwestern St. Louis County, Missouri. It is located in the city of Kirkwood and bordered to the west by the Meramec River, to the south by Interstate 44 and the Possum Woods Conservation Area, and to the east by Interstate 270. The ENP is part of the Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor. The Powder Valley Nature Center is directly to the east of ENP across Interstate 270. Missouri Department Of Conservation
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Missouri Conservation Commission were created by Article IV Sections 40-42 of the Missouri Constitution, which were adopted by the voters of the state in 1936 as Amendment 4 to the constitution. The Commission is vested with control, management, restoration, conservation, and regulation of fish, forest, and wildlife resources of the state. The Department of Conservation owns and oversees hatcheries, sanctuaries, refuges, and reservations, and enforces the state wildlife code. Interstate 44 (I-44) is a major Interstate Highway in the central United States. Although it is nominally an east–west road as it is even-numbered, it follows a more southwest–northeast alignment. The Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor is a long string of adjoining conservation areas in the US state of Missouri, running along Interstate 44 and along the Meramec River. Cragwold, also known as Edwin A. Lemp Estate, in St. Louis County, Missouri was built in 1911. Lemp, Cragwold is one of four estates built near the Meramec River between 1910 and 1920 by wealthy St. Louisans with ties to German-American and brewing families.
