Emily Nelson
Emily Nelson (born 10 November 1996) is a former English professional racing cyclist. Her sister, Josie, is also a cyclist and joined Trinity Racing for the 2021 season. Career On 8 August 2013, at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, Nelson competed at the UCI Juniors Track World Championships. She was part of Britain's Team Pursuit squad which also included Hayley Jones, Amy Hill and Emily Kay. In the qualifying heat, they broke the ''senior'' world record which had only been set a few weeks previously at the European Track Championships, setting a new time of 4:38.708. In the final, they broke the record once more, with a time of 4:35.085, beating Russia to become world champions. On the road in 2017, Nelson won the third round of the Matrix Fitness Grand Prix Series in Northwich. Tour Series
The Tour Series is an annual series of cycling criterium races held in the United Kingdom since 2009. It is televised by ITV4 in the UK. The competition emphasises team effort with individual wins deemed less important. The races are held over 1 hour of racing plus 5 laps. The team standings for each round are calculated by adding together the positions of the top three riders of each team (5 riders start for each team) and the team with the lowest score wins, and get 10 points for the overall championship. Each team gets 1 point less than the one in front of them, so second gets 9, third gets 8, and so on. In addition, there is the sprint competition. There are three sprints every race, and the top five riders are awarded points based on place: 1st, 5; 2nd, 4; 3rd, 3; 4th, 2 and 5th, 1. European Track Championships
The European Track Cycling Championships are a set of elite level competition events held annually for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling, exclusively for European cyclists, and regulated by the European Cycling Union (UEC). Emily Kay
Emily Kay (born 7 September 1995) is a track and former road cyclist. After several years representing Great Britain and England at international competitions, Kay transferred allegiance in late 2019, and began representing Ireland on the UCI World Cup Track cycling circuit. She currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team . Junior career Kay partook in the 2009 School games and won the individual pursuit and finished second in the Keirin. At the 2010 national youth and junior track championships, Kay placed second in the junior points race, just three points behind Laura Trott. Hayley Louise Jones (born 26 September 1995) is a Welsh racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI Women's Team . From Port Talbot, Jones was a member of the record breaking, gold medal winning, British team pursuit squad at the Juniors world championships in 2013. Early career Hayley Jones is the daughter of Phil and Louise Jones, the sprint gold medalist for Wales at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Jones was part of British Cycling's Olympic Development Programme for 2012/2013. She was a member of the bronze medal-winning British team pursuit squad at the Junior world championships in 2012.
