Amy Hill (cyclist)
Amy King (née Hill; born 4 July 1995) is a British former racing cyclist from Newport, Wales. She was a member of the record breaking, gold medal winning, British team pursuit squad at the Juniors world championships in 2013. Career On 8 August 2013, at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, King competed at the UCI Juniors Track World Championships. She was part of Britain's Team Pursuit squad which also included Hayley Jones, Emily Kay and Emily Nelson. In the qualifying heat, they broke the ''senior'' world record which had only been set a few weeks previously at the European Track Championships, setting a new time of 4:38.708. In the final, they broke the record once more, with a time of 4:35.085, beating Russia to become world champions. King represented Wales at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. 2014 The Women's Tour
The 2014 Friends Life Women's Tour was the inaugural edition of The Women's Tour, a stage race held in Great Britain, with a Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI rating of 2.1. It was the ninth stage race of the 2014 in women's road cycling, 2014 Women's Elite cycling calendar. It is the only race in Great Britain, apart from the National Championships, on this calendar. Marianne Vos won the last three of the five stages and the race overall. British National Track Championships
The British National Track Championships are held annually and organised by British Cycling (formerly the British Cycling Federation). The main events are various track cycling disciplines for elite athletes to determine the British national champions. However, competitions are also held in age and disability categories. Until 1994 both amateur and professionals could take part in the 'Open' events, in addition to specific events that were restricted to either. The modern era is considered to have started in 1994 eventually replacing the amateur era. In November 1994, British Cycling moved its headquarters to the National Cycling Centre, Manchester, which held been opened earlier in the year by Princess Anne. The Women's Tour de Yorkshire is a women's road cycling race in Yorkshire, England. From 2015 to 2017, the event was a one-day race. From 2018 onwards, the event has been a two-day event, with a UCI race classification of 2.1. The event is the female equivalent of the Tour de Yorkshire. History The first Women's Tour de Yorkshire was run in 2015. The course consisted of four laps of a course, and was won by Britain's Louise Mahé. Manon Lloyd (born 5 November 1996) is a Welsh Global Cycling Network YouTube presenter. Lloyd is a former road and Track cycling, track cyclist and rode professionally for UCI Women's Team in 2018 and 2019. Representing Great Britain at international competitions, Lloyd won the bronze medal at the 2016 UEC European Track Championships in the team pursuit.
