Elpida Xylofagou
Elpida Xylofagou is a Cypriot football club based in the village of Xylofagou in Larnaca district. The club, which was established in 1959, currently competes in the Cypriot Second Division, after a successful campaign in the Cypriot Third Division, from which it gains the promotion. Their colors are white and blue. In recent years, the team has also regularly participated in the Cypriot Cup. Stadium The team uses the Michalonikion Stadion, as a home stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 2,000 fans. Xylofagou
Xylofagou ( el, Ξυλοφάγου []) is a sprawling Greek-Cypriot village situated close to the A3 motorway (Cyprus), A3 Motorway between Dhekelia Cantonment, Dhekelia (Larnaca) and Paralimni / Agia Napa. It lies on the northern flank of a hill, on the edge of an area of a group of several similar villages known as the "Kokkinochoria" ("the red villages"), known for growing vegetables, especially potatoes, in red soil. Etymology "Xylo" is the Greek word for "wood". "fagou" roughly means "eater's". And the whole name roughly translates to "Woodeaters" Most of the village lies in Larnaca District. The Cypriot Second Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Β΄ Κατηγορίας) is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top two teams being promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last four teams being relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. The Cypriot Third Division (Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. The Cypriot Cup () is the main cup competition in Cypriot football, run by the Cyprus Football Association (CFA). It began in 1934, the same season with the Cypriot Championship. Cypriot Cup For Lower Divisions
The Cypriot Cup for lower divisions is a domestic cup for the teams who participate in the Cypriot Third Division and in the STOK Elite Division (ex Fourth Division). Format It was created in the 2008–09 season by Cyprus Football Association. Participation in this cup is not compulsory, so the number of the clubs that participate is different each year. The competition is a knockout tournament. The matches in the first two rounds are single-legged and the matches in quarterfinals and semifinals are two-legged. The final is a single match played in neutral ground. The winner and the finalist of the cup are receiving a respectful amount of money by CFA as a bonus prize. The 2008–09 Cypriot Cup for lower divisions was the 1st edition of the Cypriot Cup for lower divisions. A total of 19 clubs entered the competition. It began on 11 October 2008 with the first round and concluded on 29 March 2009 with the final which was held at Dasaki Stadium. Elpida won their 1st cup trophy after beating Digenis 2–1 in the final. Format Only teams from the Cypriot Third Division and Cypriot Fourth Division could participate. Participation was not compulsory. 19 of 28 participated that season. The competition consisted of five rounds. In the first and in the second round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results.
