Elma (gastropod)
''Elma'' is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Streptaxidae. Taxonomy ''Elma'' was classified within the subfamily Enneinae.Sutcharit C., Naggs F., Wade C. M., Fontanilla I. & Panha S. (2010). "The new family Diapheridae, a new species of ''Diaphera'' Albers from Thailand, and the position of the Diapheridae within a molecular phylogeny of the Streptaxoidea (Pulmonata: Stylommatophora)". ''Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society'' 160: 1-16. . Páll-Gergely et al. (2015) classified ''Elma'' according to the first internal anatomy research of the genus either in Streptaxinae or in the Gibbinae. Distribution The distribution of the genus ''Elma'' includes Taiwan, northern Vietnam and China. Species Species within the genus ''Elma'' include: * '' Elma fultoni'' (Bavay & Dautzenberg, 1912) * '' Elma mansuyi'' (Dautzenberg & H. Fischer, 1906) * '' Elma matskasii'' Varga, 2012 * '' Elma messageri'' (Bavay & Dautzenberg ...

Animalia
Animals are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms in the biological kingdom Animalia. With few exceptions, animals consume organic material, breathe oxygen, are able to move, can reproduce sexually, and go through an ontogenetic stage in which their body consists of a hollow sphere of cells, the blastula, during embryonic development. Over 1.5 million living animal species have been described—of which around 1 million are insects—but it has been estimated there are over 7 million animal species in total. Animals range in length from to . They have complex interactions with each other and their environments, forming intricate food webs. The scientific study of animals is known as zoology. Most living animal species are in Bilateria, a clade whose members have a bilaterally symmetric body plan. The Bilateria include the protostomes, containing animals such as nematodes, arthropods, flatworms, annelids and molluscs, and the deuterostomes, containing the echinode ...

Land Snail
A land snail is any of the numerous species of snail that live on land, as opposed to the sea snails and freshwater snails. ''Land snail'' is the common name for terrestrial gastropod mollusks that have shells (those without shells are known as slugs). However, it is not always easy to say which species are terrestrial, because some are more or less amphibious between land and fresh water, and others are relatively amphibious between land and salt water. Land snails are a polyphyletic group comprising at least ten independent evolutionary transitions to terrestrial life (the last common ancestor of all gastropods was marine). The majority of land snails are pulmonates that have a lung and breathe air. Most of the non-pulmonate land snails belong to lineages in the Caenogastropoda, and tend to have a gill and an operculum. The largest clade of land snails is the Cyclophoroidea, with more than 7,000 species. Many of these operculate land snails live in habitats or microhabitats ...

List Of Non-marine Molluscs Of Vietnam
The non-marine molluscs of Vietnam are a part of the molluscan fauna of Vietnam ( wildlife of Vietnam). A number of species of non-marine mollusks are found in the wild in Vietnam. There are good reasons to suppose that Vietnam, with a surface of 332,000 km2, a large variety of habitats, and many different limestone 'islands' that differ from each other in faunal composition, will have a rich diversity of terrestrial molluscs. Numerous non-marine mollusc species, including more than 850 species of land gastropods, have been described from the country but many others still await discovery and description. Freshwater gastropods Freshwater gastropods in Vietnam include: Neritidae * '' Neritina violacea'' Ampullariidae * ''Pila polita'' * '' Pila conica'' * '' Pila ampullacea'' * ''Pomacea canaliculata'' * ''Pomacea insularum'' (d'Orbigny, 1835) Viviparidae * '' Cipangopaludina lecythoides'' * '' Idiopoma umblicata'' * '' Sinotaia aeruginosa'' * '' Mekongia lithophaga ...

Mollusk
Mollusca is the second-largest phylum of invertebrate animals after the Arthropoda, the members of which are known as molluscs or mollusks (). Around 85,000  extant species of molluscs are recognized. The number of fossil species is estimated between 60,000 and 100,000 additional species. The proportion of undescribed species is very high. Many taxa remain poorly studied. Molluscs are the largest marine phylum, comprising about 23% of all the named marine organisms. Numerous molluscs also live in freshwater and terrestrial habitats. They are highly diverse, not just in size and anatomical structure, but also in behaviour and habitat. The phylum is typically divided into 7 or 8  taxonomic classes, of which two are entirely extinct. Cephalopod molluscs, such as squid, cuttlefish, and octopuses, are among the most neurologically advanced of all invertebrates—and either the giant squid or the colossal squid is the largest known invertebrate species. The gas ...
