Elizabeth Grove is a suburb in the northern extent of Adelaide, South Australia, on the western side of Main North Road south of Elizabeth. It is bounded by Main North Road, Hogarth Road, Harvey Road and Ridley Road. It contains a local shopping centre, public and Catholic primary schools, and churches of several denominations. History Elizabeth Grove was established in 1955 as one of the southern suburbs of what was then the new satellite city of Elizabeth. Electoral District Of Elizabeth (South Australia)
Elizabeth is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It first existed from 1970 to 2006, when its boundaries were moved south and east and it was renamed to Little Para. The 2016 redistribution moved it further north and renamed it back to Elizabeth for the 2018 election. The district is in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, and named for the suburb of Elizabeth. First incarnation (1970–2006) The district of Elizabeth was first created in 1970 when the number of electorates increased from 39 to 47 and was abolished in 2006. Though Elizabeth was historically a safe Labor seat, it was held for a time by independent-turned-Labor MP Martyn Evans. Hillbank is a residential suburb of the City of Playford in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. It contains such features as Jo Gapper Regional Park, Hillbank Childcare Centre, Elizabeth Pistol Club and an On The Run petrol station. History The original subdivision was laid out under the name of Hill Bank. The name was changed to Hillbank in 1966. Elizabeth Vale is a suburb in the northern extent of Adelaide, South Australia. It was established in 1955. Its main roads are Main North Road to the east and John Rice Avenue which bisects the suburb. The southern boundary is the northern bank of the Little Para River. Elizabeth Vale has two hospitals, the Lyell McEwin Hospital, a public teaching hospital, and the private Central Districts Hospital. Demographics The 2006 Census by the Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 3,667 persons in the suburb of Elizabeth Vale on census night. Main North Road is the major north-south arterial route through the suburbs north of the Adelaide City Centre in the city of Adelaide, South Australia. The Hundred of Munno Para is a cadastral unit of hundred covering the outer northern suburbs of Adelaide north of the Little Para River and the flanking semi-rural areas in South Australia. The Methodist Church of Australasia was a Methodist denomination based in Australia.
