Elfriede Saarik
Elfriede Saarik (full name Erika Elfriede Elena Saarik, since 1941 Tubin; 22 May 1916 – 22 October 1983) was an Estonian dancer and stage actress. Career Elfriede Saarik was born in the Karkaraly District of Karaganda in Kazakhstan to Estonian parents. From 1935, she studied at Tiina Kapper Dance Studio and also studied piano and attended the drama study group at the Vanemuine theatre in Tartu. From 1935 until 1944, she was a dancer at the Vanemuine. In 1944, she fled the Soviet re-occupation of Estonia and fled to Sweden with her husband, composer and conductor Eduard Tubin and sons Rein and Eino, where she worked as a shop assistant and draughtsman. She wrote the libretto for the ballet " Kratt". Personal life Saarik was married to composer Eduard Tubin. Their son is journalist Eino Tubin. Metsakalmistu
Metsakalmistu (meaning ''Forest Cemetery'') is a cemetery in the Pirita district of Tallinn. Metsakalmistu was originally planned to be a public medieval cemetery. Eduard Vilde was the first to be buried in 1933. The original area of the cemetery was 24.2 hectares, but has since expanded to be 48.3 hectares. Metsakalmistu was officially opened in 1939. That same year, 15 people were buried in the cemetery. In 1939, the nearby Kloostrimetsa Farm cemetery was created, which eventually, through expansion, became part of an expanded Metsakalmistu. At first, the designers of the cemetery were unanimous about the general design requirements of the cemetery, but the area was still dominated by the appearance of a wild forest. Skogskyrkogården (; ) is a cemetery located in the Gamla Enskede district south of central Stockholm, Sweden. Its design, by Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz, reflects the development of architecture from Nordic Classicism to mature Functionalism (architecture), functionalism. History Skogskyrkogården came about following an international competition in 1915 for the design of a new cemetery in Enskededalen, Enskede in the southern part of Stockholm, Sweden.
