Elena Kaliská
Elena Kaliská (born 19 January 1972) is a retired Slovak slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1988 to 2019. Competing in four Summer Olympics, she won two gold medals in the K1 event, earning them in 2004 and 2008. Kaliská also won five medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with two golds (K1: 2005, K1 team: 2011), two silvers (K1: 2007, K1 team: 2009) and a bronze (K1 team: 2014). She has won the overall World Cup title 6 times (2000-2001, 2003–2006), which is a record among women. At the European Championships she won a total of 16 medals (8 golds, 4 silvers and 4 bronzes). In 2021, she won a gold medal in K1 at inaugural ICF Masters Canoe Slalom World Championship in Kraków. Zvolen (; hu, Zólyom; german: Altsohl) is a town in central Slovakia, situated on the confluence of Hron and Slatina rivers, close to Banská Bystrica. It is surrounded by Poľana mountain from the East, by Kremnické vrchy from the West and by Javorie and Štiavnické vrchy from the South. Zvolen is a seat of a county (Zvolen District). The 2011 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in La Seu d'Urgell, Catalonia, Spain between June 9 and June 12, 2011 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). 2002 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2002 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Bratislava, Slovakia between 12 and 14 July 2002 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 4th edition of the senior championships. It was also the 1st edition of the Under 23 European Championships, which in the following years were held together with the Junior European Championships. The team events were held as an open event for both senior and U23 athletes. Countries were allowed to enter two teams in each team event. The races took place at the Čunovo Water Sports Centre on an offshoot of the Danube river.
