Eidsvåg Church
Eidsvåg Church ( no, Eidsvåg kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Eidsvåg, Bergen, Eidsvåg neighborhood in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Eidsvåg parish which is part of the Åsane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, white, concrete church was built in a Churches in Norway#Floor plan, rectangular design in 1981 using plans drawn up by the architectural firm ''Lund + Slaatto Arkitekter'' from Oslo. The church is a large cube shape, seating about 300 people, and the main sanctuary is expandable up to 500 people. The list of churches in Bjørgvin is a list of the Church of Norway churches in the Diocese of Bjørgvin which includes all of Vestland county in Norway. The list is divided into several sections, one for each deanery (; headed by a Provost (religion), provost) in the diocese. Administratively within each deanery, the churches are divided by municipalities each of which has their own church council () and then into parishes () which have their own councils (). Each parish may have one or more Parish church, local church. Historically, the diocese has had many deaneries, but the number of deaneries has been reduced in recent years. Åsane Church ( no, Åsane kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Åsane in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Åsane parish which is part of the Åsane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, red, brick church was built in a circular design in 1993 using plans drawn up by the architect Trygve Dyngeland. The church seats about 600 people. The church was built to replace the Old Åsane Church which had recently had a large fire. History On Christmas Eve 1992, the Åsane Church burned down because of arson.
