Eduardo Saragó
Eduardo José Saragó Carbón (born 11 January 1982) is a Venezuelan football manager and former player. He is the current manager of Deportivo Táchira. Career Born in Caracas, Saragó had brief spells for hometown side Caracas and Italchacao as a player, before retiring. He started working at the youth schools of Fray Luis and San Agustín del Marques, before later taking over the youth sides of Centro Italo Venezolano and then being an assistant manager of the Venezuela national under-20 team. In 2008, Saragó was appointed manager of Zamora for the Clausura tournament, and led the side to a seventh position. In July of that year, he took over Deportivo Italia, leading the side to the first position in the 2008 Apertura and later losing the Finals to Caracas; he later continued at the club when they changed name to Deportivo Petare in 2010. The 2023 Primera División season, officially Liga de Fútbol Profesional Venezolano or ''Liga FUTVE'', was the 67th season of the Venezuelan Primera División, the top-flight football league in Venezuela, and the 42nd season since the start of the professional era. The season began on 3 February and ended on 25 November 2023. Deportivo Táchira won their tenth title at the end of the season, defeating Caracas on penalty kicks following a 1–1 draw after extra time in the final. Metropolitanos were the defending champions. The Copa Venezuela ( en, Venezuela Cup) is the national cup football competition of Venezuela. Organized by the Venezuelan Football Federation, it is contested in the second half of the season by the teams in the Venezuelan Primera División, Primera División and Venezuelan Segunda División, Segunda División, excluding reserve teams competing in the lower tier.
