Edite Fernandes
Edite Cristiana Fernandes (born 10 October 1979) is a Portuguese former footballer who most recently played for CF Benfica of the Campeonato Nacional de Futebol Feminino. She is a former captain of the Portugal women's national football team, who scored a national record 39 goals in the 132 caps she accumulated between 1997 and 2016. Club career Edite began her career with local club Boavista, before moving to Lisbon side 1º Dezembro at age 19. She would win nine Portuguese Liga titles and three Portugal Cups at the two clubs before moving abroad to play in China and Spain. In August 2002 Edite was the Player of the Match as Beijing Chengjian beat Shanghai SVA on penalties in the Chinese Women's Super League final. She has played for several clubs in Spain, and joined Arsenal Ladies F.C. for pre-season training but did not sign a permanent deal with the club. Vila do Conde (, ; "the Count's Town") is a municipality in the Norte Region of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 79,533, in an area of 149.03 km². The urbanized area of Vila do Conde, which includes the parishes of Vila do Conde, Azurara and Árvore, represent 36,137 inhabitants. ''Record'' is a Portuguese sports newspaper, founded by Manuel Dias, published in Lisbon. Although it covers most sports, football is the focal point of it, and almost always is the only sport referred to on the cover. History and profile ''Record'' was founded by Manuel Dias. The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). The Chinese Women's Super League (CWSL) is the top level women's football league in China. It was called the Chinese Women's National Football League from 2011 to 2014. The penalty shootout is a method of determining a winner in sports matches that would have otherwise been drawn or tied. The rules for penalty shootouts vary between sports and even different competitions; however, the usual form is similar to penalty shots in that a single player takes one shot on goal from a specified spot, the only defender being the goalkeeper.
