East Lancs Myllennium Lowlander
The East Lancs Myllennium Lowlander is the type of double-decker bus body built on the DAF/VDL DB250 chassis by East Lancashire Coachbuilders. The name "Lowlander" was derived from the chassis being built by a company from The Netherlands. History The Myllennium Lowlander superseded the East Lancs Lowlander, which was never released in the original design due to no orders being placed, therefore no examples of the previous model were built. East Lancs decided to retain the Lolyne/Myllennium Lolyne name for their bodies for Dennis Trident 2s rather than change the name to Lowlander, as they felt the name's association with The Netherlands would make it a fitting name for their body for the DAF DB250. A double-decker bus or double-deck bus is a bus that has two storeys or decks. They are used for mass transport in the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, Europe, Asia and also in cities such as Sydney; the best-known example is the red London bus, namely the AEC Routemaster. Early double-deckers put the driver in a separate cab. Passenger access was via an open platform at the rear and a bus conductor collected fares. The Volvo B7TL is a Low-floor bus, low-floor double-decker bus chassis which was launched in 1999 and replaced the 2-axle version of the Volvo Olympian (its 3-axle version was replaced by the Volvo Super Olympian). It was built as the United Kingdom, British bus operators seemed hesitant to purchase the Volvo B7L, B7L double decker with a long rear Overhang (vehicles), overhang (although some have since entered service in Glasgow, Scotland as 12 m long double deckers). The East Lancs Lolyne is a type of double-decker bus body built by East Lancs. It is the double-decker version of the Spryte. The East Lancs Myllennium was a type of single-decker bus body manufactured by East Lancashire Coachbuilders on DAF SB220, Dennis Dart SLF, MAN 14.220 and Scania OmniTown chassis. It was designed in 1999 as a bus for Millennium Dome routes M1 and M2 operated by London Central, but soon after became available for other operators. Dennis Trident 2
The Dennis Trident 2 is a 2-axle low-floor double-decker bus chassis originally manufactured by Dennis, which was unveiled in 1997 and replaced the Dennis Arrow. It was built by TransBus after Dennis was incorporated into the group in 2001, then from 2004, it was built by Alexander Dennis following the collapse of TransBus. Design The Trident 2 chassis features a transversely mounted engine on the right side, with the radiator mounted on the left side of the engine compartment. It could be fitted with C-series Euro II engine (later Cummins ISCe Euro III engine), coupled to Voith DIWA or ZF Ecomat gearbox.
