EMP2 Platform
The EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) is a modular car platform which is jointly developed and used by French car manufacturer PSA Group (merged into Stellantis since 2021) for compact and mid-size cars with front wheel drive or four wheel drive and transverse engine. It replaces the PF2 and PF3 platforms in one combined modular platform, and cost PSA €630 million to develop. Specification The EMP2 platform is highly modular, with a choice of short and long wheelbase, low or high riding height, and a choice of independent multi-link or twisted-beam rear suspension. Comparing to the predecessor PF2, the platform reduces the weight by 70 kg using very high strength steel, aluminum and magnesium alloys, and composite materials. Twisted-beam Rear Suspension
The twist-beam rear suspension (also torsion-beam axle, deformable torsion beam or compound crank) is a type of automobile suspension based on a large H or C-shaped member. The front of the H attaches to the body via rubber bushings, and the rear of the H carries each stub-axle assembly, on each side of the car. The cross beam of the H holds the two trailing arms together, and provides the roll stiffness of the suspension, by twisting as the two trailing arms move vertically, relative to each other. Functioning The coil springs usually bear on a pad alongside the stub-axle. Often the shock is colinear with the spring forming a coil-over. In many cases the damper is also used as a restraint strap to stop the arm descending so far that the coil spring falls out through being completely unloaded. The Opel Grandland is a compact crossover SUV which is produced by the German manufacturer Opel and its British twin-sister brand Vauxhall. The DS 7 Crossback, now known as simply the DS 7, is a compact luxury crossover SUV from the French automaker DS Automobiles. The vehicle was presented for the first time on 28 February 2017, and its public premiere was at the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. The Citroën C5 Aircross is a compact crossover SUV produced by the French automaker Citroën since late 2017. It started as the Citroën Aircross concept car which was unveiled at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. The production version was officially presented for the Chinese market at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. Overview In Europe, the model was presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, and sales began later that year with the 2019 model.. Mild hybrids (also known as power-assist hybrids, battery-assisted hybrid vehicles or BAHVs) are generally cars with an internal combustion engine equipped with an electric machine (one motor/generator in a parallel hybrid configuration) allowing the engine to be turned off whenever the car is coasting, braking, or stopped, and then quickly restarted once power is again required. The Dongfeng Fengshen A9 is an executive sedan produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation under the Dongfeng Fengshen sub-brand. The Citroën C6 is an executive car produced by the French car maker Citroën since 2005. The Citroën C6 was inspired by the Citroën C6 Lignage concept car with a fastback saloon like styling.
