Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu
Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu (1911 – 21 September 1975) was a Turkish painter, mosaic-maker, muralist, writer and poet. His art work was inspired by Anatolian village scenes and folk literature, and included traditional handicraft folk patterns. Early life Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu was born in 1911 in Görele on the Black Sea, the second child in a family with five. His elder brother, Sabahattin Eyüboğlu, was a well-known writer and his younger sister, Mualla Eyüboğlu, was one of the first architects working in restoration and well known for her work on the Harem section of Topkapı Palace in Istanbul. Due to his father's position as a Governor, Eyüboğlu lived in various parts of Turkey before attending high school in Trabzon. In 1928, he started to write poetry. Eren Eyüboğlu
Eren Eyüboğlu ( née Ernestine Leibovici; 1913–1988) was a Romanian-born Turkish painter, ceramicist, and mosaic artist. She is considered one of the forerunners of modernism in Turkey. Biography Ernestine Leibovici was born on 5 February 1913 in Iași, Romania. She attended George Enescu National University of Arts (formerly Academy of Fine Arts Lași), where she graduated in 1928. From 1930 to 1932, she continued her education at Andre Lhote's studio (also known as Academy André Lhote) in Paris and Académie Julian. In 1933, she studied art in Istanbul. In 1933, she married artist Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, whom she met at Andre Lhote's studio. When she married, Ernestine adopted the Turkish name “Eren”. Bedri would go on to have an affair with artist Mari Gerekmezyan in the 1940s, which put a strain on their marriage. Orhan Eyüpoğlu
Orhan Eyüpoğlu (1918 – 30 November 1980) was a Turkish politician. A graduate of Istanbul University's Faculty of Law, he was deputy director of the Istanbul Police force. In 1973 he was elected as the secretary general of the Republican People's Party defeating Turan Güneş Turan Güneş (1922–1982) was a Turkish academic and politician who served as the minister of foreign affairs and deputy prime minister in the 1970s. He started his political career in the Democrat Party, but soon he joined the Republican Peo ... and Deniz Baykal. He later served as the deputy prime minister in the 40th and 42nd governments. Mualla Eyüboğlu
Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger (March 13, 1919 – August 16, 2009) was one of the first female Turkish architects. She is known for her restoration work on the Topkapı Palace harem room and the Rumelihisarı in Istanbul. Early life and education Eyüboğlu was born in 1919 in Aziziye, Sivas. She was the sister of well known Turkish painter and poet, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, and Sabahattin Eyüboğlu, an author, academic and translator. Her father, Mehmet Rahmi, was the Governor of Trabzon and a member of parliament chosen by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Her family moved to Istanbul, where she enrolled in a regular high school, unlike many of her peers who often attended all girls colleges. After graduating from high school, Eyüboğlu was educated in fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul and became an architect in 1942. Sabahattin Eyüboğlu (1908 – January 13, 1973) was a Turkish people, Turkish writer, essayist, translator and film producer. Biography Sabahatttin Eyüboğlu was born in 1908 on the Black Sea coast town of Akçaabat near Trabzon. His father Mehmet Rahmi was governor of Trabzon and was chosen by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as a member of parliament. Sabahattin graduated from the Trabzon Lyceum and was sent to France, in order to study French in Dijon, Lyon and Paris. Upon his return to Turkey, he was appointed as associate professor at the Istanbul University and assistant to Professor Spitzer and Auerbach.
