Ewaldus Martinus Sedu
Ewaldus Martinus Sedu (born 30 July 1963) is an Indonesian Roman Catholic bishop. Biography Sedu was born in Bajawa, to Nikolaus Gapi and Maria Dhone. He attended Mataloko Middle Seminary in the city from 1977 to 1983 for junior and high school. He continued his education in philosophy and theology at the Ledalero Catholic School of Philosophy after undergoing the Year of Spiritual Orientation at the Interdiocesan High Seminary of St. Peter Ritapiret, in Flores where he was elected as class president and general chairman. Sedu returned to the St. John Brekmans Toda Belu Intermediary Seminary from in 1988–89. He was ordained a deacon on 21 October 1989, and was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Ende on 7 July 1991. With the formation of the Diocese of Maumere in 2004, Sedu was incardinated as a priest of that diocese on 14 December 2005. Roman Catholic Diocese Of Maumere
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Maumere (''Dioecesis Maumerensis'') in Indonesia was created on December 14, 2005, by splitting it from the Archdiocese of Ende, which is still the metropolitan of the diocese. Its first bishop is Vincentius Sensi. The St Joseph church in Maumere is the cathedral of the diocese. The diocese covers an area of 1,732 km², coinciding with the civil district Sikka on the eastern part of the island Flores. As of 2005, 259,598 of the 270,000 people in the area are members of the Catholic Church. The diocese is subdivided into 35 parishes. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ende ( la, Archidioecesis Endehena) is a Latin metropolitan archdiocese in the Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia. Its cathedral is the Christ the King Cathedral in the city of Ende, Nusa Tenggara Timur. History The archdiocese was established on 16 September 1913 as Apostolic Prefecture of Lesser Sunda Islands, on territory split from what was then Apostolic Vicariate of Batavia (now Archdiocese of Jakarta, then covering the Dutch East Indies). Franciscus Kopong Kung
Franciscus Kopong Kung (born 3 August 1950) is an Indonesian Roman Catholic bishop. Biography Born in East Flores Regency, Kopong Kung was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Ende on 29 June 1982. On 2 October 2001 Kopong Kung was named coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Larantuka, due to the poor health of then bishop Darius Nggawa. On 10 January 2002 Kopong Kung was ordained as bishop, with Nggawa being the principle consecrator, and Longinus Da Cunha, then archbishop of Ende, and Leo Laba Ladjar O.F.M. being the two co-consecrators. After Nggawa's official retirement after he turned 75, Kopong Kung was installed as permanent bishop of Larantuka on 16 June 2004. Ende, East Nusa Tenggara
Ende is the seat capital of the Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. Ende is located on the southern coast of Flores Island. The town had a population of 87,269 residents at the 2020 census, divided administratively between four districts of the regency – Ende Seletan, Ende Timur, Ende Tengah and Ende Utara. Maumere
Maumere is the administrative seat of the Sikka Regency and the second-largest town (after Ende) on Flores Island, Indonesia. It lies on the north coast of the island and the port is in the north-west part of the town. Flores is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands, a group of islands in the eastern half of Indonesia.
