Evgeny Kolesnikov
Evgeny Sergeyevich Kolesnikov (russian: Евгений Сергеевич Колесников; born December 26, 1985) is a Russian professional basketball player for Avtodor Saratov of the VTB United League. He is 1.94 m (6 ft 4 ¾ in) in height and he plays as a combo guard. He is also a member of the Russian national basketball team. Professional career Kolesnikov played with the PBC CSKA Moscow junior team in Russia between 2002 and 2004. In 2004, he moved to fellow Russian side CSK VVS Samara, where he competed with the club's second team. In 2005, he moved, this time to PBC Ural Great, where he saw action in the 2005-06 ULEB Eurocup. After one more season in Russia, where he saw little playing time, he moved to Latvian side BK VEF Rīga. Kolesnikov had two highly successful seasons with the squad, leading the team to the 2009 Latvian league title and winning the 2009 Baltic Basketball League Challenge Cup MVP. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. 2010 FIBA World Championship
The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee. It was considered as prestigious a competition as the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Turkey. For the third time (after the 1986 and 2006 tournaments), the World Championship had 24 competing nations. As a result, the group stage games were played in four cities, and the knockout round was hosted by Istanbul. The United States won the tournament for their fourth time after going undefeated in the Opening Round and beating host Turkey in the final. Baltic Basketball League
Baltic Basketball League (BBL) was the Baltic states basketball league founded in 2004. The league mainly focused on teams from the Baltic states, but teams from Sweden, Russia, Kazakhstan, Finland, and Belarus have participated in the Baltic League. After the 2017–18 season, the league announced that it was suspending its operations.
