Even Ormestad
Even Enersen Ormestad (born 9 November 1978 in Tønsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian bass guitarist and music producer, known as a member of the band Jaga Jazzist. (in Norwegian) Career Ormestad is educated in jazz and music production at Norges Musikkhøgskole and runs the studio ''Albatross Recorders'' together with Hasse Rosbach and Martin Sjølie. He is together with the brothers Martin and Lars Horntveth part of the original lineup in Jaga Jazzist and has contributed with his bass and keyboards on recordings and tours with, among others Marit Larsen, Thom Hell, Bertine Zetlitz and Hanne Hukkelberg. In addition, he has worked as a producer and technician, often in collaboration with Audun Borrmann or Thomas Helland, for artists like Thom Hell, Hilde Marie Kjersem, Rockettothesky, Christer Knutsen, Bellman, Jonas Alaska, Marion Ravn, Matilda and a number of other artists. Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. Hilde Marie Kjersem, also known as Marie Munroe, (born 27 April 1981 in Ålesund, Norway) is a Norwegian artist, musician and songwriter signed to Warner Music Norway. She started out as a jazz musician, but has had an organic and natural development towards the world of pop. In January 2016, Marie Munroe released her fourth solo album called ''Under My Skin.'' Munroe har been nominated for two Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spellemannprisen), and has collaborated with some of Norway's most talented musicians - among them Sivert Høyem og Bernhoft. Career Munroe started her career early, and already as a teenager, she toured with Rikskonsertene, and at sixteen she joined the rock and rap band San Jose. Recording The album was produced by Kåre Christoffer Vestrheim and Marcus Schmickler. Smalltown Supersound
Smalltown Supersound is an independent record label, founded in Flekkefjord in 1993 and now based in Oslo, Norway. It is dedicated to new forms of jazz, rock and electronic music. Their catalog features albums by Kelly Lee Owens, Deathprod, Neneh Cherry, Annie, Jaga Jazzist, 120 Days, Mental Overdrive, Bjørn Torske, Mats Gustafsson and Sonic Youth, amongst others. History Smalltown Supersound was founded in 1993 by Joakim Haugland in the small town of Flekkefjord in southern Norway. Jaga Jazzist (also known as Jaga) is a Norwegian experimental jazz band, that rose to prominence when the BBC named their second album, ''A Livingroom Hush'' (Smalltown Supersound/ Ninja Tune), the best jazz album of 2002. (in Norwegian) Biography The core of the band are the brothers and the main songwriters, Lars and Martin Horntveth. Martin formed Jaga Jazzist together with Ivar Christian Johansen in 1994 while they still were in their teens, though Johansen later left the group.
