''A Livingroom Hush'' is the second album of Jaga Jazzist, released in 2001 by Ninja Tune under the authority of the Warner Music Group. The BBC named it the best jazz album of 2002. The album features ten instrumental songs, most of which having been composed by Lars Horntveth and Jørgen Munkeby. Reception The Allmusic review awarded the album four stars and review by the Norwegian newspaper ''Dagbladet'' awarded the album 5 stars (dice). An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), Phonograph record, vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as Digital distribution#Music, digital distribution. Martin Horntveth
Martin Horntveth (born 20 September 1977) is a Norwegian musician (primarily drummer), composer and electronica artist. He was born in Tønsberg, and is the younger brother of tubaist Line Horntveth, but is best known as the drummer and key member of Jaga Jazzist and The National Bank together with his brother Lars Horntveth. Career Together with Ravi (Ivar Johansen) he started in 1994 the band Jaga Jazzist, where he and his brother Lars are key members. In summer 2003 he and his brother Lars, wrote a commissioned work for ''Vestfold Festspillene'' in Tønsberg. The work was performed by the musicians who later became the band The National Bank. He received the Edvard Prize 2005 in the class pop music for the tune ''Tolerate'' from the band's debut album '' The National Bank'', together with his brother Lars and the lyricist Martin Hagfors. Even Ormestad
Even Enersen Ormestad (born 9 November 1978 in Tønsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian bass guitarist and music producer, known as a member of the band Jaga Jazzist. (in Norwegian) Career Ormestad is educated in jazz and music production at Norges Musikkhøgskole and runs the studio ''Albatross Recorders'' together with Hasse Rosbach and Martin Sjølie. He is together with the brothers Martin and Lars Horntveth part of the original lineup in Jaga Jazzist and has contributed with his bass and keyboards on recordings and tours with, among others Marit Larsen, Thom Hell, Bertine Zetlitz and Hanne Hukkelberg. Ravi (Ivar Johansen)
Ivar Christian Johansen (born 28 April 1976 in Tønsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian popular artist, musician (vocals, keyboards and trumpet), composer, journalist and program manager (NRK and TV2 Norway), known under the pseudonym Ravi (his first name backwards). Career Ravi writes songs with Anders Løvlie under the name Ravi og DJ Løv. He played in the bands like Briskeby, Folk & Røvere, Jessica Fletchers and was a founding member of Jaga Jazzist (1994-2001). Morten Qvenild
Morten Qvenild (born 31 August 1978) is a Norwegian jazz pianist, band leader, and producer. Career Qvenild started his jazz career in the big band Ung Musikk in 1995, followed by studies on the Jazz program at the Norges Musikkhøgskole. He used to play in ''Østenfor Sol'' with Ole Jørn Myklebust, with Myklebust's OJ Trio, Shining (1999–2003), and Jaga Jazzist (2000–2002). Since 2000 Qvenild is the "orchestra" of Susanna & the Magical Orchestra and an original member of Solveig Slettahjell's Slow Motion Quintet as well a duo partner. Beyond these enduring collaborations Qvenild is also involved in the Jon Klette Quartet, The National Bank and he toured with Nils Petter Molvær's Khmer and with Bertine Zetlitz Band (2003 and 2004). Line Horntveth
Line Horntveth (born 26 November 1974 in Tønsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (tuba, flute percussion, and vocals), the sister of the musicians Martin and Lars Horntveth, married to the upright bassist Bjørn Holm, and known from a series of recordings within Jaga Jazzist. Biography Horntveth got her Examen artium from the Tønsberg Gymnas in 1993. Her formal musical studies started at Toneheim Folkehøgskole and later she has attended studies at the University of Oslo. Her latest project 'Budding Rose' released their debut album ''Where Were Ye All?'' (2013). This is a collaborative effort with the multi instrumentalist Terje Johanssen, known from collaborations with Lars Martin Myhre. Mathias Eick
Mathias Eick (born 26 June 1979) is a Norwegian jazz musician, and the brother of the jazz musicians Johannes Eick and Trude Eick. He is mainly known from his releases on the jazz label ECM Records. His main instrument is the trumpet, but he also plays upright bass, vibraphone, piano and guitar. He has performed with several well-known music groups and musicians, e.g. Jaga Jazzist, Manu Katché, and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra together with Chick Corea and Pat Metheny. Besides this he is also known for his collaboration with Norwegian singer-songwriter Thomas Dybdahl, and recordings with the Norwegian bands Turboneger, DumDum Boys, Motorpsycho, D'Sound and Bigbang.
