Evelina Galo
Evelina Galo is a Croatian former handball player. She has been credited as one of the greatest players in Yugoslavia's history. Biography Galo was born in Labin, Istria (today Croatia, then Yugoslavia). She started playing for her hometown club, ŽRK Rudar Labin. She played as a regular for Yugoslavia women's A national team. Labin
Labin (Italian/Istriot: Albona) is a town in Istria, west Croatia, with a town population of 5,806 (2021) and 10,424 in the greater municipality (which also includes the small towns of Rabac and Vinež, as well as a number of smaller villages). History Labin developed from the site of the Roman settlement of Albona. Its name predates classical antiquity and is derived from Proto-Indo-European ''*alb-'' ("eminence", "hill"). Before and under the Roman occupation, Albona was an important commune. On a marble tablet the Roman inscription we read that under the Emperor Marco Iulio Severo Filippo noble Caesar noble Prince made Albona a Republic. The Istrian Encyclopedia ( hr, Istarska enciklopedija) is a Croatian encyclopedia giving a complete overview of the Istrian peninsula and its history. Istria was the first region in Croatia to get its own encyclopedia. Published by the Lexicographic Institute, it was released in 2005. NR Croatia
The Socialist Republic of Croatia ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, separator=" / ", Socijalistička Republika Hrvatska, Социјалистичка Република Хрватска), or SR Croatia, was a constituent republic and federated state of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
