Evelin Novak
Evelin Novak (born 1985 in Čakovec) is a Croatian soprano. Novak was born in Croatia. At the age of 12 she started her singing education, four years later she won two first prizes at international competitions in Croatia. At the age of 17 she became the youngest student at the Music Academy in Graz, Austria. Afterwards she studied at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with Dunja Vejzović, where she received her diploma in spring 2008. Biography From April 2009 until June 2011, Novak was holding a scholarship of the Liz Mohn Kultur- und Musikstiftung at the International Operastudio of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. Stabat Mater (Dvořák)
Antonín Dvořák's Stabat Mater, Op. 58 ( B. 71), is an extended setting for vocal soloists, choir and orchestra of the 20 stanzas of the Stabat Mater sequence. Dvořák sketched the composition in 1876 and completed it in 1877. It has been characterized as a sacred cantata and as an oratorio, and consists of ten movements of which only the first and the last are thematically connected. Its total performance time is around 85 minutes. The work was first performed in Prague in 1880. N. Simrock published Dvořák's Op. 58 in 1881. In 1882, Leoš Janáček conducted a performance of the work in Brno. The work was performed in London in 1883, and again, in the Royal Albert Hall, in 1884, and thus played a crucial role in Dvořák's international breakthrough as a composer. Calixto Bieito (Miranda de Ebro, 2 November 1963) is a Spanish theater director known for his radical interpretations of classic operas. Biography Born in the small town of Miranda de Ebro, Bieito moved to Barcelona with his family when he was 14. His mother was an amateur singer who encouraged him to play piano. The Gran Teatre del Liceu (, English: Great Theatre of the Lyceum), known as ''El Liceu'', is an opera house in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
