Leopoldo Torre Nilsson (5 May 1924 – 8 September 1978), also known as Leo Towers and as Babsy, was an Argentine film director, producer and screenwriter. Born as Leopoldo Torres Nilsson (he later changed his paternal surname from Torres to Torre) was the son of Argentine pioneer film director Leopoldo Torres Ríos, with whom he collaborated between 1939 and 1949. He debuted in 1947 with the short ''El muro''. His mother was an Argentinian citizen of Swedish descent. His uncle was cinematographer Carlos Torres Ríos (1898–1956). Torre Nilsson's first full-length film, ''El crimen de Oribe'' (1950), was an adaptation of Adolfo Bioy Casares's novel ''El perjurio de la nieve''. Enrique Carreras (6 January 1925 – 29 August 1995) was a Peruvian-born Argentine film director, screenwriter and film producer, and was one of the most prolific film directors in the history of the Cinema of Argentina. Born in Lima, Peru, Carreras directed nearly 100 films in his 40-year career between 1951 and 1991. His 1964 film ''The Escaped'' was seen at the 14th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1977 film '' Crazy Women'' was entered into the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. He died in Buenos Aires in 1995. The plot concerns a group of people who graduated from high school in 1989 and reunite twenty years later. Ulyses Petit de Murat (28 January 1907 – 19 August 1983) was an Argentine poet and screenwriter. He wrote the script for ''The Gaucho War'' (1942) with Homero Manzi based on the 1905 novel by Leopoldo Lugones. At the 1943 Argentine Film Critics Association Awards, Murat and Manzi won the Silver Condor Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for their screenplay of the film which proved highly successful. His poem "Graciela Oscura" was set to music by Astor Piazzolla for the film '' Extraña ternura''; this song was repeated several times in the movie, and was reported to be the main attraction of the film when it opened at Cine Monumental in the spring of 1964. Beatriz Guido
Beatriz Guido (13 December 1924 – 4 March 1988) was an Argentine novelist and screenwriter. Biography Guido was born in Rosario, Santa Fe Province, the daughter of architect Ángel Guido (renowned as the creator of the National Flag Memorial) and of Uruguayan actress Berta Eirin. She studied at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires. She wrote her first novel, ''La casa del ángel'', in 1954. She also wrote a short story named ''Usurpacion''. Because of her outspoken anti-Peronism, she was branded a "right-wing writer" and a "false aristocrat" by the government of Juan Perón.
