Evangelical Free Church of China (EFCC) is a Chinese Protestant denomination historically based in Mainland China and Hong Kong. It is today one of the largest evangelical denominations in Hong Kong. History In 1887, the Swedish Americans, Swedish American Hans J. von Qualen of the Evangelical Free Church of America became the denomination's first missionary to China. After a short period of language study in Guangzhou, Canton, von Qualen established the mission's first chapel in 1888 outside the city of Guangzhou, Canton in Henan, Henan province as a base for evangelism. By 1925, as the mission developed and had 28 Chinese and Western Christian workers, the mission developed Bible classes which would eventually lead to the establishment of the Canton Bible Institute in 1927, later known as the Evangel Seminary. Islands District
The Islands District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is part of the New Territories. It had a population of 170,900 in 2018. Hong Kong consists of a peninsula and 263 islands. The Islands District consists of some twenty large and small islands which lie to the south and southwest of Hong Kong. Notable areas that are part of the Islands District include Chek Lap Kok, the reclaimed island on which Hong Kong International Airport is located, Tung Chung on northern Lantau near the airport, and Discovery Bay, a large private residential area on eastern Lantau. Evangel College is a co-educational school in Hong Kong, located at 7 Chi Shin Street, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories. The gospel or good news is a theological concept in several religions. Tung Fook Church
E.F.C.C. Tung Fook Church, is a Christianity, Christian Church (congregation), church based in Hong Kong. Established in August 1991, it is part of the Evangelical Free Church of China. The main place of worship is located on 11 in the Causeway Bay area, Hong Kong Island. It had an initial congregation of a few dozens in 1991. 2005 estimate is around 2,500. In 2010, the church has grown up to 4,500. New Territories
The New Territories is one of the three main regions of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It makes up 86.2% of Hong Kong's territory, and contains around half of the population of Hong Kong. Historically, it is the region described in the Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory. According to that treaty, the territories comprise the mainland area north of Boundary Street on the Kowloon Peninsula and south of the Sham Chun River (which is the border between Hong Kong and Mainland China), as well as over 200 outlying islands, including Lantau Island, Lamma Island, Cheung Chau, and Peng Chau in the territory of HK.
