Evan McKie
Evan M. McKie is a ballet dancer in classical and contemporary ballet and an actor-dancer known for interpreting roles from literature. He has served as an honorary advisor to Dance Collection Danse, and is a guest writer and a member of the international advisory board of ''Dance Magazine''. Early life and education McKie trained at Canada's National Ballet School and the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. under the guidance of Vladimir Djouloukhadze. He graduated from Stuttgart Ballet's affiliated John Cranko Schule under the tutelage of Pyotr Pestov. Career McKie became a first soloist with Stuttgart Ballet in 1997. ''The Sleeping Beauty'' ( rus, Спящая красавица, Spyashchaya krasavitsa ) is a ballet in a prologue and three acts, first performed in 1890. The music was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Opus 66). The score was completed in 1889, and is the second of his three ballets. Alexei Osipovich Ratmansky (russian: Алексей Осипович Ратманский, born August 27, 1968) is a Russian-American choreographer and former ballet dancer. From 2004 to 2008 he was the director of the Bolshoi Ballet. He left Russia in 2008. As of April 2014 he was the artist in residence at the American Ballet Theatre.
