Evan Justice
John Evan William Justice (born July 7, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career A native of Richmond, Virginia, Justice attended Collegiate School and played college baseball at NC State. In 2019, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Professional career Justice was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fifth round, with the 140th overall selection, of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Rockies. In 3 games, he logged a 3.00 ERA with 4 strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work. Justice missed the entirety of the 2022 season due to a shoulder strain injury. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. The pitcher is often considered the most important player on the defensive side of the game, and as such is situated at the right end of the defensive spectrum. The Spokane Indians are a Minor League Baseball team located in Spokane Valley, the city immediately east of Spokane, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest. The Indians are members of the High-A Northwest League (NWL) as an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
