Eva-Lotta Kiibus
Eva-Lotta Kiibus (born 17 January 2003) is an Estonian figure skater. She is the 2020 Nebelhorn Trophy champion, a two-time Estonian national champion (2020–21), and a three-time Tallink Hotels Cup champion (2018–2019, 2021). Kiibus has represented Estonia at the European and World championships and finished twenty-first at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Personal life Kiibus was born on 17 January 2003 in Tallinn. Her older brother is Estonian rapper Nublu. As of 2023, she is a student at the University of Tartu. Career Early years Kiibus began learning to skate in 2007. She competed in the advanced novice ranks in the 2015–2016 season and made her junior international debut the following season. 2018–2019 season In September 2018, Kiibus debuted on both the ISU Junior Grand Prix series and the senior-level ISU Challenger Series. 2019 World Figure Skating Championships
The 2019 World Figure Skating Championships were held in Saitama, Japan, from March 18–24, 2019. Records The following new ISU best scores were set during this competition: Qualification Age and minimum TES requirements Skaters are eligible for the 2019 World Championships if they turned 15 years of age before July 1, 2018, and have met the minimum technical elements score requirements. The ISU accepts scores if they were obtained at senior-level ISU-recognized international competitions at least 21 days before the first official practice day of the championships. Due to the difference in the rules for the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons, the required minimum scores have been adjusted separately for scores reached in the 2017–18 and the 2018–19 season. 2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy
The 2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy was held in September 2020 in Oberstdorf, Germany. It was part of the 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. On August 25, 2020, the German Ice Skating Union confirmed that Nebelhorn Trophy would be held as scheduled, but without spectators and would include extensive social distancing guidelines and procedures for the athletes and coaches in attendance. Originally scheduled as the fourth event in the 2020–21 Challenger Series, Nebelhorn Trophy became the first to officially proceed as scheduled, after cancellations and postponements of the preceding events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filipino ladies' singles skater Alisson Krystle Perticheto, whose hometown is in Switzerland, was the only skater on the preliminary entry lists to represent a non-European nation. ISU Figure Skating Championships
The International Skating Union organizes six annual Championships for figure skating. It is at the discretion of each member country which skaters, pairs or synchronized skating teams are sent to which championship. Gerli Liinamäe
Gerli Liinamäe (born 21 March 1995) is an Estonian figure skater. She is the 2017 Volvo Open Cup champion, the 2019 Nordic silver medalist, and a four-time (2011, 2015, 2018, 2019) Estonian national champion. She has competed in the final segment at five ISU Championships. Her best placements were 13th at the 2011 European Championships and 14th at the 2012 World Junior Championships. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (titled the ISU Junior Series in the 1997–98 season) is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union.
