Euson
Julio Bernardo Euson (born April 12, 1941), professionally known as Euson, is an Aruban-Dutch singer, songwriter and occasional actor. Biography Euson formed his first band aging just twelve years. After winning a number of amateur talent contests on Aruba he tried his luck and emigrated to the Netherlands in 1962. Besides accepting a job at he joined the beat groups ''The Scarlets'' from The Hague, changing to the Rotterdam garage rock band ''Kreole Kats'' which renamed to ''Julio uson& the Kreole Kats''. Meeting jazz musicians Chris Hinze, flute player, and Cees Schrama, keyboardist and some former members of ''The Lords'', formerly the supporting group of singer Rob de Nijs in 1967 resulted in cooperating as ''Stax'', the supporting group of J.B. Euson. "Both Sides, Now" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. First recorded by Judy Collins, it appeared on the US singles chart during the fall of 1968. The next year it was included on Mitchell's album ''Clouds'', and became one of her best-known songs. Zilveren Harp
The Zilveren Harp (Silver Harp) is a Dutch award given annually to promising musical talent. The award is very prestigious and winners are chosen by a different jury each year. The Zilveren Harp is given by the foundation "Buma Cultuur", which aims to promote Dutch music. The first award was given in 1969, and it has been presented every year since (except for the year 1972). Buma Cultuur also presents the Gouden Harp award, which is given to an artist for his entire oeuvre and Buma Export Award for acts which are successful abroad. Phillip Goodhand-Tait
Phillip Goodhand-Tait (born 3 January 1945, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England) is an English singer-songwriter, record producer and keyboard player. Life and career Goodhand-Tait was known as Phil Tait in his school years. His mother was a piano teacher and his father was involved in trade unions. Goodhand-Tait began his music career shortly after the family moved to Guildford, Surrey, in 1957. His first group, Phill Tone and the Vibrants, was renamed Phill and the Stormsville Shakers in 1961. The band included Paul Demers on drums, Ivor Shackleton on guitar, and Kirk Riddle on bass. By 1966, the same year the group released its first singles, the Stormsville Shakers's lineup included Tait, Riddle, Ian Jelfs on guitar, David Sherrington on tenor sax, and Alan Bunn on drums. "Our Last Song Together" is a 1973 song recorded by Neil Sedaka. It is a track from his LP ''The Tra-La Days Are Over'', and was the third of four single releases from the album. The song became a Top 40 hit in the UK (#31) and Ireland (#19) for Sedaka in late 1973. It also became a minor U.S. hit for both Bobby Sherman and Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods. Background Co-written by Sedaka with his long-term songwriting partner Howard Greenfield, they wrote "Our Last Song Together" after Sedaka convinced Greenfield that bringing their nearly 20-year relationship to an end in order to work with others would be mutually beneficial. Neil Sedaka (; born March 13, 1939) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Since his music career began in 1957, he has sold millions of records worldwide and has written or co-written over 500 songs for himself and other artists, collaborating mostly with lyricists Howard Greenfield, Howard "Howie" Greenfield and Phil Cody. After a short-lived tenure as a founding member of the doo-wop group the Tokens, Sedaka achieved a string of hit singles over the late 1950s and early 1960s, including "Oh! "Born on the Bayou" (1969) is the first track on Creedence Clearwater Revival's second album, ''Bayou Country'', released in 1969. It was released as the B-side of the single "Proud Mary" that reached No. 2 on the ''Billboard'' charts. The song was covered by Little Richard. Background Songwriter John Fogerty set the song in the South, despite neither having lived nor widely traveled there. He commented: "Born on the Bayou" is an example of "swamp rock", a genre associated with Fogerty, Little Feat/Lowell George, the Band, J.J. Cale and Tony Joe White. The guitar setting for the intro is over-driven with amp tremolo on a slow setting; Fogerty uses a Gibson ES-175 (which was stolen from his car soon after recording this track). "Amen" is a traditional gospel song that was popularized by The Impressions with their 1964 version. It was recorded earlier, in June 1948, and released in January 1949 by the Wings Over Jordan Choir. Background The song was arranged by Jester Hairston, for the Sidney Poitier film '' Lilies of the Field'' (1963), which popularized the song. Curtis Mayfield said "I'd gone to see 'Lilies of the Field,' and the song in it, 'Amen,' was very inspiring for me as was the movie . . . Of course, I'd decided to do a version of it. We put it together in the studio starting off with a musical 'swing low sweet chariot', and then we fell into that particular song with somewhat of a marching rhythm."
