José Couto
Jose Guilherme Couto (born 27 February 1978) is a Portuguese swimmer. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, the 2000 Summer Olympics, and the 2004 Summer Olympics. In the short course, he was Vice-World champion in 2002, and Vice-European champion in 1999, as well as winning a bronze medal at the 1999 European Short Course Championships. Over the course of his career, he has won 108 medals, including one gold medal, and one bronze medal, at Swimming World Cup circuits. Roman Andreyevich Sludnov (russian: Роман Андреевич Слуднов, born 24 February 1980) is a breaststroke swimmer from Russia. He was the first person to swim the long course 100 m breaststroke under one minute. In 2000 he held world records in the long course 100 m and short course 100 m and 200 m. At the 2000 Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the 100 m event. Biography Sludnov has a younger brother Artyom (born 1981) who won a national title in breaststroke in 1999. His parents, Natalia Roshchina and Andrei Sludnov, are elite swimming coaches and were taking both sons to their training sessions since early age. Mark Warnecke
Mark Warnecke (born 15 February 1970 in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German former breaststroke swimmer who, at age 35, won the world title in the 50 m breaststroke at the 2005 World Aquatics Championships in Montreal. That made him the oldest swimming world champion since 1971. He started for the German swimming club SG Essen. He competed in four consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country, starting in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea, where he was a member of the 4×100 m medley relay team, that finished in fourth position. Adam Ruckwood
Adam Ruckwood (born 13 September 1974) is a male English former competitive swimmer and backstroke specialist. Swimming career Ruckwood represented Great Britain at three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1992 (Barcelona, Spain). At the ASA National British Championships he won the 100 metres backstroke title three times (1998, 2000, 2001) and the 200 metres backstroke title seven times (1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000). Ruckwood also competed in three Commonwealth Games; he represented England where he won a gold and silver medals in the backstroke events, at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
