European Open (disc Golf)
The European Open is a PDGA-sanctioned major disc golf tournament held in Nokia, Finland Finland ( fi, Suomi ; sv, Finland ), officially the Republic of Finland (; ), is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. It shares land borders with Sweden to the northwest, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east, with the Gulf of Bot .... The first European Open was held in 2006 on the Epilä course, in Tampere. In 2011, the tournament was relocated to Nokia, 15 kilometres outside Tampere. The reigning champions are Eagle McMahon in the open division and Paige Pierce in the female division, both of whom are from the Disc golf in the United States, United States. Nokia () is a town and a municipality on the banks of the Nokianvirta River (part of the Kokemäki River) in the region of Pirkanmaa, some west of Tampere in Finland. Catrina Allen
Catrina Allen is an American professional disc golfer. She is a US Champion and 2 time World Champion, and has been ranked among the top four women in the world between 2012–2019. In 2009, Allen was working as a bartender, and became interested in the sport after caddying for a friend at a tournament. She began playing and won the South Dakota Amateur Championships later that year, and won the US Women's Disc Golf Championship as an Amateur in 2010. Paul McBeth (born July 9, 1990) is an American professional disc golfer from Huntington Beach, California. He won the PDGA World Championships four times in a row (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015) and again in 2019 and 2022, making him a six-time champion. David Feldberg (born 1977) is an American professional disc golfer, and tournament director. At the end of the 2017 season, he was the 45th ranked disc golfer in the world. Feldberg is one of the most successful disc golfers in the sport's history, having won 6 unique majors, second all time. Epilä
Epilä is a district in Tampere, Finland. The area is bordered on the north by the Tampere–Pori railway and Lielahti, on the east by Hyhky's Vaakonkatu, on the west by Rahola and on the south by Kaarila. Epilä has been permanently inhabited since the 16th century.
