Euroblast
The Euroblast Festival is a heavy metal music festival taking place in Cologne, Germany since 2008. The festival was initiated by close friends John Giulio Sprich and Daniel Schneider. Background The Euroblast Festival, alongside the UK-Tech-Fest, has become the most important festival of the Modern Progressive Metal scene. Due to its distinct musical alignment and the singularity of its concept, top-class bands from almost all continents are part of the line-up and visitors arrive from all over the world. So far, musicians and spectators from 45 countries have taken part. One important characteristic of the festival is its familiar atmosphere between musicians and audience. On all three festival days it is possible to participate in lively exchanges. Aside from the concerts, music workshops with band members are an integral part of the concept and, moreover, fairgrounds offer the chance for musicians to make contact with renowned companies of the scene. Xerath
Xerath were an English heavy metal band from Basingstoke, Hampshire. Formed in 2007, the band gained international recognition after the release of their debut album ''I (One)'' via Candlelight Records in 2009, a record label they stuck with throughout their existence. Containing elements of progressive, death, thrash and symphonic metal, Xerath's music is characterized by the mix of polyrhythmic guitar riffing and drumming, with orchestral and symphonic elements. Vildhjarta
Vildhjarta is a Swedish progressive metal band from Hudiksvall, formed in 2005. The band plays in a Meshuggah-influenced musical style employing heavily down-tuned seven-string guitars, as well as harmonic minor chord progressions, jarring staccato riffs, layers of reverberant guitars and dual lead vocalists. The group released a two-track EP entitled ''Omnislash'' in 2009 before they proceeded to sign with Century Media Records in 2011, spawning their debut full-length album ''Måsstaden'' that same year. In 2013, they followed up with a second EP, ''Thousands of Evils'' released on an exclusive 1,000-copy vinyl record run. Love at Last is an American heavy progressive metal band from Tampa, Florida, founded as Akeldama in 2011 by vocalist, songwriter, and producer Andrew Zink. After releasing their debut EP and full-length studio album, the band changed their name in March 2017 which also marked the group's new line-up. Uneven Structure
Uneven Structure is a progressive metal band based in Metz, France. They play a style of post-metal which is heavily influenced by the Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah. The band blends polyrhythmic passages and extremely low tunings with a heavily layered production style and ambient soundscapes. They are often categorized in the djent movement due to the Meshuggah-like guitar tone they often employ. The band was formed after the split of Longchat, a band which featured Igor Omodei and Benoit Friedrich. The Algorithm is the musical project of French musician Rémi Gallego (born 7 October 1989) from Perpignan. In-Quest
In-Quest is a Belgian technical death metal band. Formerly signed with Good Life Recordings, the band were active since the early 1990s, with Sven de Caluwe of Aborted as a singer from 2002 to 2004. He was replaced by Swedish singer Mike Löfberg from Blockhead (Swedish band), Blockhead. They released five albums and two EPs, with their final album called ''8: The Odyssey Of Eternity'' released on August 8, 2013. On February 12, 2014 the band split up. Circle of Contempt is a Finnish metalcore band formed in Pori in 2006. The band consists of lead vocalist Denis Hautaniemi, bassist Markus Karhumäki, drummer JP Kaukonen and guitarists Risto-Matti Toivonen and Ville Patrikainen. Textures were a Dutch progressive metalcore band, formed in 2001. Textures' lineup revolved around founding members Jochem Jacobs, Stef Broks, Bart Hennephof, and bassist Remko Tielemans who joined in 2007. Sybreed (a portmanteau of "synthetic" and "breed") was a Swiss industrial metal band from Geneva. The band was founded in 2003 by vocalist Benjamin Nominet and guitarist Thomas "Drop" Betrisey.
