EuroBasket Women 2027
The 2027 EuroBasket Women, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2027, will be the 41st edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It will be held between 16 and 27 June 2027. It will be co-hosted by Espoo, Finland, and Vilnius and Klaipėda, Lithuania. Bidding process * and (Vilnius, Klaipėda and Espoo) Finland and Lithuania were confirmed as hosts on 24 November 2023 at the FIBA Europe Board in Mies, Switzerland. Although, FIBA Europe stated the possibility of a potential third and fourth being involved, similar to 2025. On 22 March 2024, FIBA Europe stated that several countries have expressed an interest in becoming a co-host and confirmed the additional hosts will be announced in November 2024. Qualification The qualification will begin in November 2025 and end in February 2027. The 2025 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2025, is the 40th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It will be held in the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Italy. Belgium are the defending champions. Bidding process Romania *In March 2023, the president of the Romanian Basketball Federation, Carmen Tocală, said that they intend to apply to host Group games in a new 5,000 capacity multi-complex arena in Constanța. This would be their third time hosting, after 1966 and 2015. Italy *On 14 July, the Italian Basketball Federation announced that they would bid for the hosting rights. This would be their eighth time hosting, after 1938, 1968, 1974, 1981, 1985, 1993 and 2007. On 7 September 2023, FIBA announced that the Czech Republic (Brno), Germany (Hamburg), Greece (Piraeus) and Italy (Bologna) will host the tournament. EuroBasket Women 1956
The 1956 European Women's Basketball Championship was the 5th regional championship held by FIBA Europe for women. The competition was held in Prague, Czechoslovakia and took place June 2–10, 1956. The Soviet Union won their fourth consecutive gold medal, with Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria repeating their performance of the previous tournament, winning silver and bronze respectively. Preliminary round The teams were divided into four groups. The first two from each group would go to the Semi-Final Round. The remaining teams went to the Classification Round to determine the 9th–16th spots.
