EuroBasket Women 2025
The 2025 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2025, is the 40th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It will be held in the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Italy. Belgium are the defending champions. Bidding process Romania *In March 2023, the president of the Romanian Basketball Federation, Carmen Tocală, said that they intend to apply to host Group games in a new 5,000 capacity multi-complex arena in Constanța. This would be their third time hosting, after 1966 and 2015. Italy *On 14 July, the Italian Basketball Federation announced that they would bid for the hosting rights. This would be their eighth time hosting, after 1938, 1968, 1974, 1981, 1985, 1993 and 2007. On 7 September 2023, FIBA announced that the Czech Republic (Brno), Germany (Hamburg), Greece (Piraeus) and Italy (Bologna) will host the tournament. EuroBasket Women 2023
The 2023 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2023, was the 39th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Slovenia and Israel between 15 and 25 June 2023. The games were played in Tel Aviv and Ljubljana. Serbia was the defending champions. Belgium won their first title winning 58–64 in the final over Spain, while France won the bronze medal, after defeating Hungary. Bidding process The bids were as follows: * Slovenia (Group phase and Final phase) * Israel (Group phase) * Austria (Group phase) On 11 June 2021, Slovenia and Israel won the hosting rights. Qualification Qualified teams Venues The tournament was initially planned to be played in four venues in four cities. Three venues would have been used for Slovenia and one for Israel. The 2007 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2007, was the 31st regional championship held by FIBA Europe. The competition was held in Italy and took place from September 24, 2007 to October 7, 2007. Russia won the gold medal and Spain the silver medal while Belarus won the bronze. The Peace and Friendship Stadium ( el, Στάδιο Ειρήνης και Φιλίας, Stadio Eirinis kai Philias), commonly known by its acronym SEF, is a multi-purpose indoor arena that is located in Piraeus, on the coastal zone of Attica, Greece. The arena is mostly known for being the home to EuroLeague team Olympiacos, and is the central venue of the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Complex. It opened in 1985 and its design was inspired by Palasport di San Siro. The arena complex also contains a 942-seat amphitheater, a weight training room, a full practice facility, three auxiliary courts that house the Olympiacos youth clubs, and the Olympiacos team office. Unipol Arena (previously known as Futurshow Station, PalaMalaguti and originally Palasport Casalecchio) is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Casalecchio di Reno, Province of Bologna, Italy. The seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 11,000 people, and the seating capacity for concerts is 20,000 people. It was opened in December 1993. It was home to the Virtus Bologna basketball team from 1996 to 2017. It is served by Casalecchio Palasport railway station.
