Eugenio Colmo
Eugenio Colmo, known by the pseudonym Golia (1885–1967) was an Italian cartoonist, caricaturist and watercolor painter. Giovanni was born in Turin to a father who worked for the railroad offices. He was the younger brother of the painter Giovanni Colmo. Eugenio lived for many years in Garessio. At elementary school he befriended the poet Guido Gozzano and Tancredi Vigliardi Paravia. He enrolled to study law, but abandoned his studies to become an artist, beginning his career by writing for satirical journals ''Due di picche'' and Torino ride'' published in Turin, and the journal ''Ma chi è?''. Between 1904 and 1906, he directed the journal ''Pasquino''. In 1911, he organized an international exhibition of cartoon art held at the same time as the Turin Exposition held on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Italy. Turin ( , Piedmontese language, Piedmontese: ; it, Torino ) is a city and an important business and cultural centre in Northern Italy. Giovanni Colmo
Giovanni Colmo (1867–1947) was an Italian painter, active mainly as a landscape painter. Giovanni was born in Turin; he first studied engineering but gravitated to painting without a formal education. He was an older brother of Eugenio Colmo, known as ''Golia'', a noted cartoonist, caricaturist and watercolorist. Giovanni lived for many years in Garessio. Garessio is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about south of Turin and about southeast of Cuneo. The former Savoy family palace, the Reggia di Val Casotto is located within the town limits. Garessio is located in the Ligurian Alps. Guido Gozzano
Guido Gustavo Gozzano (19 December 1883 – 9 August 1916) was an Italian poet and writer. Biography He was born in Turin, the son of Fausto Gozzano, an engineer, and of Diodata Mautino, the daughter of Senator Mautino, patriot and supporter of Giuseppe Mazzini and Massimo D'Azeglio. He spent his life in Turin and in Agliè (in the Canavese area), where his family owned several buildings and a large estate: Villa Il Meleto.
