''Ethera'' is the fifth studio album by Austrian symphonic metal band Visions of Atlantis. It was released on 25 March 2013. It is the last album to feature Mario Plank on male vocals, Maxi Nil on female vocals, Christian Hermsdörfer on guitars and Martin Harb on keyboards. Reception The album received generally positive reviews. Metalstorm.net gave the album a 7 out of 10, stating: "They really push the line here between symphonic metal and straight up heavy metal, the riffs and rhythms are really paramount. High-energy rockers plus some slightly cheesy ballads make for a really nice flow here. It's a classic formula with fun, catchy melodies." Visions of Atlantis is an Austrian metal band from Styria, founded in 2000. Inspiration came both from successful symphonic metal band Nightwish and from the myth of Atlantis. History ''Eternal Endless Infinity'' and lineup changes (2000–2004) Fascinated by the myth of Atlantis, Werner Fiedler, Thomas Caser, Christian Stani, and Chris Kamper decided in August 2000 to work out a concept inspired by the secret of Atlantis. Late in summer mezzo-soprano Nicole Bogner joined the project, and this was the birth of Visions of Atlantis. A first demo, ''Morning in Atlantis'' was released in 2000. Napalm Records is an Austrian independent record label focused on heavy metal and hard rock. Originally, Napalm focused on black metal bands, such as Abigor and Summoning, and folk metal bands, such as Falkenbach and Vintersorg. ''Delta'' is the fourth full-length album by Austrian symphonic power metal band Visions of Atlantis featuring the new vocalist Maxi Nil. It was released on 25 February 2011. Reception The reviewers of ''Jukebox Metal'' and '' Sonic Seducer'' agreed that new singer Maxi Nil did not reach the musical quality of her predecessor. However, the album was called a solid release and was compared to the style of Edenbridge and Epica. The German edition of ''Metal Hammer'' marked that the contrast between female voices and male growling that is typical for the genre was rather absent on this album, and wrote that ''Delta'' featured straight rock hymns instead. Serenity (band)
Serenity is an Austrian symphonic power metal band, which was originally formed back in 2001. They became a more stable group with a consistent line-up in 2004, when it also began using more progressive and power influences than earlier. They have defined their genre with more melodic and symphonic metal elements. Most of their music focuses on important historical figures and events, including Sir Francis Drake, Marco Polo, Galileo, Beethoven, and Napoleon. They currently have produced seven studio albums and two demos. The members of Serenity have taken their talents outside of their music and have shared their interests and devotions with others. Edenbridge are a symphonic metal band from Austria, led by songwriter Arne "Lanvall" Stockhammer and fronted by soprano singer Sabine Edelsbacher. Established in 1998, the band has so far released ten studio albums. History 1998-2004 Edenbridge was formed in 1998 by guitarist and keyboardist Lanvall, singer Sabine Edelsbacher, and bassist Kurt Bednarsky. The line-up was completed when drummer Roland Navratil joined the band. Edenbridge entered the recording studio in 1999, signing a record deal with Massacre Records the same year.
