Marco Etcheverry
Marco Antonio Etcheverry Vargas (born 26 September 1970) is a Bolivian retired professional footballer who played as a forward. A creative playmaker, he is considered one of the greatest Bolivian players of all time. Etcheverry played for D.C. United of Major League Soccer from 1996 to 2003. He helped D.C United win eight trophies during that time, and was nominated to the MLS Best XI in four consecutive seasons from 1996 to 1999. Club career Etcheverry, is nicknamed ''El Diablo'' (The Devil). Etcheverry was trained at Bolivia's Tahuichi Academy, after which he played professionally with Bolivian sides (Destroyers, Bolívar, Oriente Petrolero), Spain (Albacete), Chile (Colo-Colo), Colombia (América de Cali) and Ecuador (Barcelona, Emelec). Samuel "The Rifle" Etcheverry (May 20, 1930 – August 29, 2009) was a professional American football, American and Canadian football player and head coach. Etcheverry played the quarterback position, most famously with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, and was named Canadian football's CFL's Outstanding Player Award, Most Outstanding Player in 1954. Etcheverry's jersey #92 is one of seven Montreal Alouettes#Retired numbers, retired by the Alouettes. Oscár Marino Echeverry Lourido (born January 13, 1977) is a Colombian football forward, who last played for New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. Club career Echeverry made his debut in the Colombian First Division in 1996 with Deportivo Cali. He remained at the club two years before joining upstart Deportivo Pasto. While at Pasto he helped the club gain promotion to the Colombian First Division. In 1999 with Deportivo Fasto, Echeverry enjoyed his finest season netting 9 goals in 38 appearances. María Eugenia Etcheverry
María Eugenia Etcheverry is a Uruguayan pilot in the Uruguayan Air Force who holds the rank of Major. She was one of the first combat pilots in Latin America, and was the first female Major and the first female commander of a squadron in the Uruguayan Air Force. Career María Eugenia Etcheverry's father was a military pilot, but she wanted to pursue a military career on her own. In 1997, after the Uruguayan Air Force allowed women to join for the first time, María Eugenia Etcheverry was one of the first women to enroll at the Military School of Aeronautics alongside Carolina Arévalo. Jésus Etchéverry (14 November 1911 in Bordeaux – 12 January 1988 in Paris) was a French operatic conductor (music), conductor. He began studying the violin while still very young, and played with diverse small orchestras to pay for his tuitions. At age 20, he was engaged by the Symphonic Orchestra in Casablanca, as first violinist, and shortly after began teaching at the Music Conservatory there. He spent the war years in Morocco, and began conducting in an improvised opera season, organised by French expatriate opera singers. The success was such that once the war over, he returned to France and became musical director at the opera house in Nancy, France, Nancy, a post he held from 1947 until 1957.
