The Lisbon University Stadium ( pt, Estádio Universitário de Lisboa) is a unit within the University of Lisbon, and a multivenue park located in Alvalade, Lisbon, comprising several sports facilities, and mostly known for its main venue and namesake, the ''Estádio de Honra'', a multi-use stadium. It also includes several indoors arenas, tennis courts, football fields, a golf course, a swimming pool complex and a medical centre. It was under direct government management until 2013, when it was integrated in the university. History The stadium was created as part of the Cidade Universitária de Lisboa, the university campus promoted by the Estado Novo to house (most) faculties of the University of Lisbon. 2013–14 European Challenge Cup
The 2013–14 Amlin Challenge Cup was the 18th and final season of the European Challenge Cup, Europe's second tier club rugby union competition. A total of 23 teams participated: 20 in the pool stage, plus three teams parachuting into the knockout stages from the Heineken Cup. The original 20 teams represented six countries. The pool stage began on 10 October 2013 and ran until 19 January 2014, followed by the knockout stages. Lusitanos XV
Lusitanos XV are a Portuguese professional rugby union representative team based in Lisbon which was created in September 2013 to compete in the 2013–14 European Challenge Cup. It was announced by the Rugby governing body ERC on 2 September that the Portuguese team would hold their home games at Estádio Nacional. However, all their home games were played at the Portuguese national rugby teams home stadium of Estádio Universitário de Lisboa. The team was coached by national team coach Frederico Sousa. In 2021 the team entered the Rugby Europe Super Cup, representing Portugal in an eight-team pan-European competition for clubs from non- Six Nations countries. Marcello Caetano
Marcelo José das Neves Alves Caetano (; 17 August 1906 – 26 October 1980) was a Portuguese politician and scholar. He was the second and last leader of the Estado Novo after succeeding António Salazar. He served as prime minister from 1968 to 1974, when he was overthrown during the Carnation Revolution. Early life and career He was the son of José Maria de Almeida Alves Caetano and his first wife Josefa Maria das Neves. Graduated as a Licentiate and later a Doctorate in Law, Caetano was a Cathedratic Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he graduated.
