Estonian Royalist Party
Independent Royalist Party of Estonia ( et, Eesti Rojalistlik Partei) was a frivolous political party in Estonia in the 1990s. It is now defunct. The party, widely considered a humorous expression of protest, was successful in the 1992 Estonian parliamentary elections, with 32,638 votes, gaining 8 seats in the parliament ('' Riigikogu''). Its most prominent members were known humorists Priit Aimla, Kirill Teiter and Ralf Parve, and the party was led by Kalle Kulbok. The party's official programme called for establishing Estonia as a monarchy, as modeled by Sweden and Norway. In practice, the party's main achievement was consistent ridicule of laws its members found ridiculous, for example, getting rid of the proposed hour of prayer in the parliament by repeatedly performing a stylized "Neopagan" rite, complete with tambourine. A frivolous party or a joke party is a political party which has been created for the purposes of entertainment or political satire. A joke is a display of humour in which words are used within a specific and well-defined narrative structure to make people laugh and is usually not meant to be interpreted literally. Vilja Savisaar
Vilja Toomast (born 15 August 1962, Antsla as Vilja Laanaru; 1996–2010 Vilja Savisaar; 2010–2015 Vilja Savisaar-Toomast) is an Estonian politician, a former Member of the European Parliament. She previously belonged to the Estonian Centre Party which she decided to leave on 9 April 2012. In 1992–1995, Vilja Laanaru was a member of Riigikogu, belonging to the Independent Royalist Party of Estonia. In 1997, she joined the Estonian Centre Party and has several times been elected to Riigikogu as well as worked in Tallinn city government. In 2009, she became a Member of the European Parliament after Edgar Savisaar renounced his mandate, so as to remain mayor of Tallinn. She left the Centre Party in 2012, maintaining her position as an MEP, and joined the Estonian Reform Party in June 2013. She ran again at the 2014 European elections, but was not successful. A monarchy is a form of government in which a person, the monarch, is head of state for life or until abdication. Kalle Kulbok
Kalle Kulbok (born 3 April 1956 in Tallinn) is an Estonian politician. Education Kulbok attended the Nõo Gymnasium and achieved good results on national olympiads of mathematics. By his skills, he could have qualified for the all-Union olympiad of mathematics; however, due to his displayed lack of respect for Soviet politics, he was never selected for that round. Politics In 1992–1995, Kulbok belonged to Riigikogu as a member of the Independent Royalist Party of Estonia. In 1995, Kulbok was not allowed to run for Riigikogu because he refused to swear allegiance to Republic of Estonia. In later years, his political activity has mainly involved Euroskepticism.
